Not Your Usual Caricature Artist
December 1, 2020
Welcome to the Holiday issue of
Not Your Usual Caricature Artist
from Caricatures by Joel

If, because of Covid...or uninspired gift selections...or time getting away from you due to other priorities...or just plain laziness, you have not yet selected holiday (Christmas or Hanukkah...or Festivus, for the rest of us) presents to give to those on your naughty or nice list, consider an idea pretty much reflected by the raison d'etre behind this newsletter:

A CARICATURE.

When you think about it, there is nothing more personal and uniquely customized than committing your favorite person's mug, along with their personality, to a professional artist's rendering. (Enter yours truly.)

It's also a uniquely long lasting gift that never fails to bring a smile as it appeals intrinsically to the individual's Number One interest: namely him or her self. And chances are, it's also that perfect solution to "what to get for the person who has everything."

Here are samples of caricature gifts -- both corporate and personal, and both "live" and commissioned from photos.
Subjects on this page include a retiring school principal (who doubled as crossing guard); Mike Collins of WFAE (NPR) radio; anniversary-acknowledged executive at McGladrey law; dueling ugly Christmas outfits; colleagues (cowboy hat and pink shirt) at a trucking firm "open house"; bat mitzvah girl; Brownlee Jewelers' Harold Rousso; assisted living facility resident;
the President of Roanoke College.
Regardless of the actual reason behind the offerings pictured here, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or any holiday spreading good cheer and love can be the perfect backdrop for the gift of caricature.
See you again the first Tuesday of next month for another festive look at the world of caricature art through the words and pics of
Not Your Usual Caricature Artist from Caricatures by Joel.

In the meantime, wishing us all good health, peace of mind
and the wisdom and fortitude to, as best as can be expected,
stay above the fray.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
