TODAY!

LAST CHANCE
to participate in this year's food drive!
Our Friendly, Fun, Food Fight for Second Harvest needs your help!!
The GoFundMe account that was set up to collect funds went through some changes this year and it didn’t make it very user friendly for you to donate.

We’re hoping you or your office can collect funds and either mail us a check made out to Second Harvest or drop by our office with your checks and cash by Friday 10/29/2021.

The Spokane Association of REALTORS® in the past years has raised over $15,000 for Second Harvest, however this year we’re coming up seriously short in donation funds for them due to the glitch in the GoFundMe account.

Every $1 donated equals 5 meals! If you have any questions, contact Chair Judy Flemmer 216-1135 or Tami Peterson at the SAR 326-9222.

Whether client, associate, or friend, the SAR's housing advocacy message will be valuable.
Greater Spokane Incorporated - the region's Chamber of Commerce - shares our Together Stronger campaign in its blog, this week:
The housing crisis facing Spokane County is growing and the statistics are startling. Over the past 10 years, housing availability has decreased 94%, and Spokane County is approximately 32,000 housing units short. On top of this shortage and current data, only one in seven houses is considered affordable.

Spokane Association of REALTORS® created a program to get the conversation going and invite the community to take action through its “Together Stronger” campaign. Armed with data that identifies the negative impact to economic development and the social costs to children and families, Spokane Association of REALTORS® is a beacon to shine light on the issues of Spokane county’s housing crisis and activate our community to get involved.

NEW!

Legal Hotline Mailbag
Washington REALTORS® Legal Hotline lawyer Annie Fitzsimmons gets questions JUST like this almost daily...

"If buyer completes their own home inspection, meaning they didn't hire a professional inspector but they did the inspection themselves. Are they able to trigger "item 5" on form 35, which is the additional inspection provision, as there would be no recommendation from a licensed inspector?"

Call Tech Support First, Not Last
Before cars had GPS navigation systems, people got lost a lot more often. Researchers explained that men were predisposed only to stop and ask for directions as a last resort response when lost.

The same type of reaction is true today for many of us when a technology glitch occurs. We often try to first fix the problem ourselves instead of immediately reaching out for help.

The problem often becomes what we think will take a couple of minutes to correct ends up taking a lot more time than we ever imagined. Ten minutes of troubleshooting can quickly turn into 30 minutes or more before we give in and seek assistance.

The best practice? Go ahead and pick up a phone and call, chat or email tech support – first, not last.

Friday, November 5th

Since HUD is a major mortgage lender, they also must deal with foreclosures, like any other lender. In the event of a foreclosure, HUD will have to sell the defaulted property to get back the money lost on the loan. Since HUD deals with such a high volume of mortgages, they are well equipped to handle a high level of foreclosures as well. HUD ends up selling a great deal of foreclosures throughout the country every year, and for buyers and real estate investors, they can be very profitable purchases. HUD homes often sell for anywhere from 30% to 60% less than their market value, simply because they are foreclosures.

Grace is a local listing broker who will teach you the basics, sometime saving tips and shares resources to help you understand and grow your business by selling HUD Homes and other local foreclosures. Grow your business by expanding your knowledge.
