Incoming Business Affairs Faculty Senate Representative: Gina Gamble

Congratulations to Gina Gamble from the Real Estate team. She will represent Business Affairs on the UNLV Faculty Senate beginning July 1!

Thank you to our outgoing Business Affairs senator Amy Carito for her service throughout her three-year term.

The UNLV Faculty Senate is the voice of the academic and administrative faculty working transparently with university administration to advance the vision and direction of the institution.

Public Service Recognition Week

Last week, UNLV joined fellow NSHE institutions to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week, a time set aside to recognize and honor those who serve in public capacities in Nevada.

President Whitfield (pictured above) visited offices throughout campus, personally delivered snacks, and gave accolades to the hardworking individuals who make UNLV a great place to learn, work, and live. UNLV leadership also gave away prizes, including UNLV football tickets and gear, travel mugs, water bottles, power banks, and mini coolers, to 55 randomly selected employees.

State employees serve Nevadans in critical ways including protecting our communities from crime, ensuring economic vitality and security, promoting tourism, building and maintaining roads and other infrastructure, fighting climate change, educating our future leaders, and preserving Nevada's rich and diverse environment for generations to come.

Thank you to all the amazing people at UNLV who make it happen daily for our students, faculty, and staff.

March Employee Appreciation Recipients

march 2023 employee appreciation recipient james drollinger from facilities management department

James Drollinger

Facilities Management

James was nominated for his contributions to the HVAC shop. Recently, he fixed an issue with the HVAC system in SSC-A. After receiving a $7,000 quote from an outside company for a custom part, the team turned to him to find an internal solution. He quickly came to the rescue. Over the following weekend, he built and installed the custom parts and the system went back into operation, thus saving time and money for the university. Thank you, James, for your expertise and willingness to lead by example!

march 2023 employee appreciation recipient nancy dooley from cashiering and student accounts

Nancy Dooley

Cashiering & Student Accounts

Nancy was nominated for the excellent service she provides to students. She shows compassion and empathy to those who have fallen behind on their tuition payments. When making contact with students, she takes time to listen to their concerns, offer advice, and inform them of what options they have before they are sent to collections. Thank you, Nancy, for going above and beyond for some of our most vulnerable students!
