Senior Spotlight: Ethan DuBois
An Article by Staff Member Josh White
Ethan DuBois is one of those people that will go out of his way to help anyone in need. His friendly personality makes him easily approachable and easy for his peers to call him a “good friend”.

Ethan is a model student in many aspects, he excels in the classroom, not afraid to take the lead in group projects, and is quick to help others who are struggling. I have had the pleasure of having Ethan, in not only the classroom, but also on my basketball and football teams. I noticed immediately that Ethan was a leader in the classroom. He was quick to participate in classroom discussions and turned in quality work on time. Ethan’s personality traits also followed him on the football field, where he was named Varsity Captain because of his leadership. His large presence makes him physically intimidating, but his willingness to learn the game, made him a very good football player.

Shop teacher Jack Kelly had this to say about Ethan, “Ethan Dubois loves history and so do I. I have been trying to hook him on the Napoleonic Wars through Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series, which appeals to Ethan's military bent. Ethan has a strong skill set in many fields, academically, athletically and they will serve him well in the future. Ethan is thinking of the service after High School, whether there or in college, Ethan is well prepared for success.”

Ethan has decided to join the United States Marine Corps after high school, which many feel is a great fit. His willingness to listen and take constructive criticism is something that he has learned while here at Sanborn, and will take him far.

The league is called GG League and play is closely monitored by a referee during all games. Players can easily report any inappropriate on line behavior and they are only identified by their user name.

Through the power of storytelling, The First Day addresses issues that school systems, communities and people across the country are impacted by, directly or indirectly, each day including substance use, other harmful behaviors and mental wellness.  Chris Herren, former professional basketball player, author and wellness advocate, has shared his story of recovery with over 1 million people nationwide. The First Day film chronicles this journey revealing Herren’s vulnerability and his profound connections with high school students who, in turn, have shared their stories of struggle and strength. Register Here

Kingston voters we need your signature!

Kingston requires that all agencies be a citizen’s petition warrant article for their first three years. Thank you to all who signed for us for 2020! Once again, we need the signatures of at least 25 registered Kingston voters.  You are not voting to fund us by signing this petition, only endorsing our ability to be on the warrant to be voted on in 2021.

COVID-19 has greatly impacted our ability to collect signatures through in person events this year. We would appreciate your help this year through email.

You can find the petition here. Please print it and sign, then email the signed document to sorocknhcc@gmail.com. This can be returned with as little as one signature. We will combine all documents and turn in together.

As part of our year end #BeSafewithSoRock campaign, 50 free safe home kits will be distributed to local families free of charge. Kits will include the window/yard sign pictured here (first 25 in each town), locking RX medication box, reusable personal hand sanitizer with hotline numbers for mental health and substance use disorders , How to Teen Proof Your Home guide, firearm trigger locks, NH COVID-19 Family Resource guide, hotline magnet for mental health and substance use disorders, and safe medication disposal pouches.  SoRock has also purchased reusable fabric masks for SRMS/SRHS and our local police departments which we hope to distribute just prior to the holiday break.

PTO Clothing & Shoe Donation Bins
When you drop your unwanted clothing and shoes off in these bins, the SRHS PTO gets paid based on the weight of the clothing! This is a really easy way to help our school. All PTO proceeds go directly back to programming and scholarships that directly benefit our students. NOTE: Shoes must go in a separate bin.

Did you know? From April of 2015 - May 2017, this fundraiser has helped us raise nearly $2400.00 for the PTO. Help us double that number by sharing this opportunity with your friends, your family, and your neighbors!
