ST LUKE'S KITCHEN HELPS WITH YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER

Challenging times are no excuse not to feast during the holidays. Therefore, instead of our usual Midweek Meals this coming week, we’re fixing sides and sweets, packaged in reusable plastic containers to make it easy, to complete your Thanksgiving celebration. Due to the holiday, the pick-up date is Tuesday, November 24 from 10 am-2 pm.  Orders are due this Sunday, November 22 by midnight.

Add our sides to a roasted turkey or chicken and voila—there’s dinner worthy of your best china and silver. The wild rice with sausage and leeks makes a great dressing for turkey, can stand alone as an entrée, and reheats in your own oven-proof dish. You’ll absolutely love our holiday interpretation of panzanella (a Tuscan salad) featuring roasted butternut squash, brussel sprouts, tart cherries, rustic bread, bacon and shallots with a red-wine vinaigrette. We’re rounding out our sides with sweet-and-savory honey glazed carrots and parsnips, creamed spinach with walnuts, garlic mashed potatoes, and cranberry compote with pomegranate and oranges.

No holiday is complete without sweets. Everyone knows where to get traditional pies or has her own treasured recipe, so our offerings are designed to round out your dessert or breakfast table. Apricot bars are a modern take on an old holiday dish from Sewanee; they’re good as is or dressed up with whipped cream on your dessert plates. We’re also offering chess squares, cranberry-orange bread, pumpkin muffins, sugared pecans, and our oh-so-good sour cream coffee cake.
Gobble, gobble.
Place your order by MIDNIGHT Sunday for Tuesday pick up.

Advent Outreach Tree
The Advent Outreach Tree
During Advent, celebrate Christ’s light in the world by making a donation to one of the ministries supported by the tree and receive a lovely ornament explaining the donation to give to your friends or family. This year’s tree benefits: TACC, Crossroads, Church of Common Ground, and The Boyce L. Ansley School.

Ornaments will be mail as we receive your orders. Orders will be taken until Monday, December 21.
Advent Reflections: The Valley of the Shadow
The theme for the Advent (and Lent) devotionals is The Valley of the Shadow – inspired both by the unprecedented upheaval of 2020 and also the faithful and hopeful tone of the 23rd Psalm because, even as we walk through the darkest of times, God is with us. Keeping with diocesan COVID-19 mitigation policy, we are not offering printed copies of the booklet this year. The reflections will be emailed to the parish daily. If you are not on the St. Luke's email list, but would like to receive the daily email, please email: hala@stlukesatlanta.org
Christmas Flower Dedications
Make a contribution to the Flower Guild for the church’s Christmas arrangements in memory of or thanksgiving for the special people in your life. Order online until Wednesday, December 16.
Pray for Peace and Healing
Advent is the perfect time to join the weekly interfaith prayer vigils hosted by St. Luke's. A season of waiting and spiritual preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Christ, Advent invites prayer. Each Monday through January 4, 2021, St. Luke's will gather leaders from all faith communities as well as the medical profession to lead a 30-minute Mourning into Unity vigil on Zoom. We pray for peace and healing in our nation. We pray for a safe and secure election in Georgia. And, we pray for strength as our country moves from one administration to another. But most of all, we pray to heal the divisions among us - to heal and be a peace with one another. Please join us.
together in spirit!
The strength of our community is not dependent on the being together physically on Peachtree Street but by our love for God, one another, and for all God's children.
