ALI Book Club
The ALI Book Club is a free program that aims to help international students practice their English reading and conversation skills. These informal hour-long groups will be led by native English-speaking USC students, are first come first served and capped at 5 students per session.
This spring, we will read twelve different short stories, one per week of the program. Please visit the ALI website for the reading schedule, session times, and instructions on how to join.
ALI Writing Labs
Free informal weekly workshops run by USC native English-speaking students who will assist international students in drafting their academic and professional writing and communications. Each week in the program will focus on a specific topic and writing prompt. Students are encouraged to prepare responses to the prompts ahead of time and come to the sessions with these writing samples so that they can be discussed and receive instant feedback on the samples during the workshop. Spring 2021 labs are held on Zoom and are 60 minutes long. Sessions will run February 1st to April 23rd, 2021. Please check here for more information, including session times, writing prompts, and how to join.
Ali Conversation Groups
The ALI Conversation Groups Program promotes English conversation between USC’s international and native English-speaking populations. This FREE resource is an excellent way for international students to supplement their studies; it provides a venue in which they can practice their growing English skills with a native English-speaking USC student in a casual environment. Spring 2021 meetings are held on Zoom and are 60 minutes long. Spring 2021 Conversation Groups will run February 1st to April 23rd, 2021. Please check here for more information, including session times, leaders, and how to join.
