Client Spotlight Donor Spotlight - In Memory of Mary Parcheta Style for Hope Luncheon Holiday Hours Other Ways to Support Us My Dear Friends, It's hard to believe that we are at the end of yet another year! Though we continued to face some challenges this year as a result of the pandemic, we are proud of our team and their continued efforts to help women overcome economic barriers. We look forward to sharing a more detailed overview of 2021 with you once we publish our annual report, however below is just a glimpse of some of our achievements: We continued to host our Virtual Career Center where over 100 women took advantage of one-on-one coaching for resume, interview, or job search assistance We suited nearly 400 women over the course of the year We have held three sessions of our “Road to Success” eight-week job readiness program. Twenty-six women have completed the program, and 15 have since obtained gainful employment! Though we were not able to hold our largest fundraiser in March, our Style for Hope Luncheon, we did hold two pop-up sales, one in our boutique in the spring and one at Rosemary Square this fall. The latter helped us to raise over $30,000 to support our programs! Perhaps our proudest achievement: we opened a second boutique in Belle Glade in March! We are only there one day per week right now, but we are feeling the momentum and know things will be picking up soon!  We are also very proud of being awarded the “Hats Off Nonprofit of the Year” Award for small nonprofits from Nonprofits First (earned because of all of the above, and so much more!) What choice have we but to remain optimistic in the face of adversity?!! We believe in the women we serve, and we remain committed to helping them achieve economic independence. One of our dearest supporters, Mary Parcheta, passed away on November 22, 2021. Mary was the mother of Nicole Parcheta, a former board member and ongoing volunteer for our organization.  Mary had a passion for life, evident to us by the joy she emitted every time she attended one of our events. She became involved in Dress for Success nearly 10 years ago when her daughter Nicole joined our organization. Nicole chaired our Shop for Success fundraiser for many years and Mary was there to help her every step of the way, going through the storage units, volunteering for shifts, and attending the VIP events. Mary also donated clothes and attended other DFSPB fundraising events throughout the years. In 2019, Nicole was the recipient of our HOPE (Harness Our Power to Empower) Award, which is presented during our Style for Hope Luncheon. Mary was in attendance and her pride was so overwhelming! Because Mary loved our mission of helping and empowering women, her family chose Dress for Success Palm Beaches as the recipient of donations in lieu of flowers. We are honored by her family's decision to choose our organization as a beneficiary and are glad to have known Mary. We know her legacy will live on through the generosity of her daughter Nicole.  Mary's obituary can be read here.
