February news & updates
February 2021 | Our Very First Issue :)
COVID-19 Update
Phase 2 of the COVID vaccination timeline starts Monday, February 1st, and this is great news for many people- especially ABC clients! There are two vaccines being distributed at this time: Moderna & Pfizer-BioNTech.

Both vaccines require TWO immunizations so you will need to go TWICE (to the same location) to receive the vaccine before the series is complete!

Once you have received your first vaccination, you will receive an immunization card that will contain the name of the vaccine as well as the date and location where you received the vaccine. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you keep this immunization card somewhere safe as you will need to bring it with you when you go to get your second vaccination!

February: The Month of Love
Celebrating Our Love for Our Seniors
Wishing all of our clients and their families a very happy Valentine's Day!

At ABC, we LOVE our seniors and are so thrilled that we get to help folks live safely & independently in their homes!

Feeling All the Feels

While Valentine's Day is a day to show love, it can also spark a feeling of sorrow and loneliness for those who have lost someone special to them- especially when already battling the "winter blues!"

Fight the feeling by doing one or all of the following:

  • Call a friend or family member
  • Meditate
  • Watch a favorite movie
  • Listen to upbeat music from your favorite band or artist
  • Do something artistic- paint, draw, color, sculpt, knit, sing, play an instrument etc.
  • Invest your energies in a hobby- such as cooking, baking, photography, reading

Made With Love

Treat yourself to a tasty treat this Valentine's Day that is super delicious and easy to make!

Here's what you will need:

  • 2 tsp room temperature water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1.5 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
  • Half a cup of granulated sugar
  • 20 Oreos
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 oz white chocolate, finely chopped
  • Two 8 oz blocks of regular cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs

A Moment in Time: Reflecting on Historic Milestones
February is Black History Month!

Did you know that the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was founded on February 12, 1909 which was the centennial anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln?

Supporting the Communities We Serve
ABC Partners with SeniorCare Inc. to Support Meals on Wheels
ABC Home Healthcare Professionals is a proud partner of SeniorCare Inc. in Gloucester, MA and the organization is pleased to once again sponsor the Annual Valentine's Day Meals on Wheels Breakfast Fundraiser.

ABC Proudly Sponsors Mystic Valley Elder Services' Bellyful of Laughs UN-Event!
COVID prevented Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) from having their Annual Bellyful of Laughs Event in January...

However, it certainly didn't prevent organizations, like ABC, from making a positive financial impact to support much needed programs such as Meals on Wheels and senior transportation services (just to name a few)!
