NEW: YMSL Volunteers Honored by Mayor

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting (January 21, 2020), the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) Cavalier’s Chapter was honored with a proclamation from the Mayor announcing Tuesday, January 21, 2020 as "Young Men’s Service League Cavalier’s Chapter Day." The proclamation came about from the group’s volunteer efforts to help clean up downed and dead tree limbs and brush from Hamilton Greenbelt. The group of young men, ages 14 to 18, along with their mothers spent four days with Lake Travis Fire Rescue and the City Forester in late 2019 to remove seventeen tons of logs and dead brush in an effort to reduce the fuel load in the greenbelt, and help prevent the spread of wildfires. The project was part of the group’s "Ultimate Gift."
