Schedule for the Remainder of the Week

Wednesday, February 3rd - WHITE (Report Directly to First Period)
Thursday, February 4th - PURPLE (Report to Family Homeroom to start the day)
Friday, February 5th - PURPLE (Report Directly to First Period)

We have the PURPLE GROUP coming to school on Thursday and Friday which allows for both groups of students to have two in-person days this week. We want to maintain as much balance to our schedule as we possibly can.
Stallions in the Spotlight
This past Sunday, senior Isaac Rush earned the Four Corners of my Faith award, which means he earned all 4 of the national religious emblem programs that Scouts are offered - Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei, and Pope Pius XII. Isaac has been working on his religious awards for several years and this past summer he finished all the requirements for the Pope Pius XII. Fewer than 1 in 10,000 receive the Four Corners of my Faith award; this is less than the number of scouts that achieve the rank of Eagle.

During his 10 years in Scouts, Isaac earned his Eagle award, 3 palms (earned by completing more projects after the Eagle award), and 36 merit badges. What an amazing career in Scouting! Congratulations Isaac!
Students from the AP US Government & Politics classes went on a virtual field trip to the New Albany Center for a discussion on “Civil Discourse and Debate” with CNN Senior Political Commentator, David Axelrod and Former New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie.
Last Thursday, members of the Stallions for Life club joined in the chapel to participate in the Life Is Very Good Rally with the Arlington Church.
Members of the SFDHS Book Club partnered with St. Anthony and the 2nd & 7 Foundation to read Hog Mollies books aloud on video for St. Anthony students.
A special thanks to SFD juniors Laurenda Lamboni, Pius Edzie, Abby Groff, and Elisa Skaggs, as well as Book Club advisor Mrs. Pam Van Arsdale, and the 2nd and 7 Foundation for helping to fight illiteracy in our schools and community.
Congratulations to the following students who earned awards at this year's Regional Scholastic's Art Show:
  • Arianna Hervey - "In the Rain" - Gold Key Award *The Gold Key Award means her piece will move on to be judged at the national level!
  • Andy Viola - "The Talker" - Honorable Mention
  • Ivana Laurol - "Self Portrait" - Honorable Mention

Spring ACT Prep Course - Register by Tomorrow, February 3

To help our students prepare for the upcoming ACT tests, we are offering our ACT Prep Course. This course will conclude prior to March 9th when our juniors will take the ACT here at school. Please click on the link below for specifics and contact Mrs. Jean Garrick (garrickj@desales.co) for more information.

Spring Activity Registration - Now Open

We are excited about the upcoming spring sports season and look forward to working with your student. Prior to the first day of tryouts/practice, every student athlete must complete the Spring Activity Registration. This simple online form conveniently streamlines all necessary paperwork to ensure your student's safety and a successful season.

The Spring Activity Registration is located in your PowerSchool Parent Portal under the "Forms" tab. To log in, visit the SFD Website or go to desales.powerschool.com. This must be completed through a web browser; the PowerSchool Mobile App will not work.

If you have forgotten your username or password, the Enrollment or Athletic Office can assist you with recovery.

The registration is made up of 7 parts, please make sure you complete all of them (A-G). Students will need to log into their student portal to sign off on parts F and G. Part E will remain "pending" until processed by the Athletic Department. All physicals must be uploaded or turned into the main office prior to the first day of practice or tryouts.

If you have any questions, you may contact the Enrollment Office at admissions@desales.co or the Athletic Office at sports@desales.co.
It's time for the SFD Mothers Club Valentine Bake Sale!

Our Valentine’s Day Bake Sale is coming up and we need your help! The sale will be held during all lunch periods on Tuesday, February 9th and Wednesday, February 10th. Popular treats continue to be CAKE POPS, BROWNIES, RICE KRISPIE TREATS, COOKIES, and CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS.

Safe Environment Letter from Mr. Adam Dufault, Superintendent of Catholic Schools

Our Catholic schools are a partnership between our Church and your family. As such, one of the primary responsibilities of our schools is to ensure the safety and well-being of your children. The Diocese treats these issues and responsibilities very seriously. For many years, the Diocese of Columbus has had a comprehensive safe environment program in place that sets out clear policies, rules, and procedures to protect your children. Click here to read the Safe Environment letter from Mr. Adam Dufault.

Note: if you already shared a photo this fall, we will include it again this spring; no need to resend.

Please submit photo by March 1, 2021.
Spiritual Reflection
In celebration of Catholic Schools week, we say a special prayer for all those in our partner parishes and schools.
Heavenly Father, today we come together, mindful of your presence, to speak the words of your precious child, St. Francis de Sales, our patron, who said:
"Be at Peace. Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life; rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father who cares for you today, will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.”
St. Francis de Sales, Pray for us.
In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
