Principal's Message

St. George School wishes all our families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. As a school community we spent this week focusing on all that is positive in our lives in preparation for giving thanks at thanksgiving. Our students wrote positives each morning during assembly as a whole school community. Some of their positives are shared in the video included below. Faculty celebrated positives during their faculty meeting through prayer and their own positive video.

This article (The Power of Positivity, Gratitude, and Prayer During the Pandemic) is a great summary of all that we focused on this week. I hope you enjoy these messages of joy and hope and continue the attitude of gratitude that has blossomed on our campus this week.

O God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry. When I have work, help me to remember the jobless. When I have a home, help me to remember those who have no home at all. When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer. And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency, bestir my compassion, and be concerned enough to help, by word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. Amen.---Samuel F. Pugh

December Stewardship Project
December 2 - December 11
Bucks for Bikes

Our December Stewardship Project, in conjunction with St. George Church's Advent Giving Tree Ministry, is to earn “bucks” to buy a bike for a child or adult in need. Students are asked to perform an act of kindness at home to earn $3.00 to donate to this project. This stewardship project helps to understand the needs of those less fortunate.

Any funds leftover after bikes are purchased will be donated to St. George Church's Advent Giving Tree Ministry. Details regarding this ministry may be found below. Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping to provide Christmas gifts for those in need.

November Stewardship Project Thank You

Thank you to all St. George School families, the faculty and staff for generously donating to our November stewardship project. Our efforts realized over $1600 for gift cards, 40 Thanksgiving meal boxes, and enough perishable donations to restock the St. George Church's St. Vincent de Paul pantry. Many area families will be blessed this Thanksgiving.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. (Matthew 25:35)
