Leprechaun Gold Hunt
Help the Lafayette Leprechauns find and fill their pot of gold. We have hidden gold throughout the BBRC complex: city fields, inline skate rink, walking trails etc. Gather up to 20 pieces of gold then report to the leprechaun check in station to show the leprechaun that you have found some of his gold. You will receive a clue to find where the pot-o-gold is hidden. Once found, retrieve your bundle of gold coins to keep. Keep your eye out for the small, hidden leprechauns. Find one and receive a special prize!
For more family fun, register for the St. Patrick's Day coloring contest. Winners will be selected by age group for additional prizes. Coloring sheets will be distributed at the leprechaun check in station and winners will be announced on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2021.

FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH
February Self-Care Tip
New Year, New You Opportunities

  1. Experiment with new activities (write a poem, paint, take a different path). Creative expression and overall well-being are linked.
  2. "You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." - Martin Luther King, Jr. Find something in your life you want to improve then determine what you can do to take a step in the right direction.
  3. Feeling stressed? Smile. Smiling is calming and can help lower your heart rate.

February Nutrition Tips
Heart Healthy Nutrition

  1. Drink more water to aid your digestion, stay hydrated and stabilize your heartbeat.
  2. Eat more fiber to feel full, lower cholesterol, and control blood sugar levels.
  3. Eat more plants. Try to include at least one fruit or vegetable with each meal.
  4. Eat enough for breakfast so you are fueled for the rest of your day. This helps control your appetite throughout the day.
  5. Eat fewer processed foods which are usually high in sodium and saturated fats, are nutritionally void, and don’t satisfy hunger.
