SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH
Letter from St. Mark's Clergy & Vestry Regarding Upcoming In-Person Worship
With the encouraging news of increasing vaccination rates and lower infection rates of
COVID-19 in New Mexico, we are now resuming more robust in-person worship and public gatherings.

We will continue to balance the needs of those who are vaccinated with those who are not yet vaccinated and with those still at risk from COVID-19 – including all children under age 12.

As of Sunday June 20th:

All are welcome to attend worship. We will no longer require seating registration, but will continue to
collect contact tracing information online or at arrival. If you'd like to register early, you may do so on our offerings page on our website. Please show up at least 10 minutes early if you plan to register when you arrive.

  • At the Bishop’s request, we will still require masks for the congregation during worship
  • Both congregational and choral singing may resume while masked
  • Fully vaccinated clergy, lay worship leaders and lectors may go without a mask while actively leading
  • worship--except when distributing communion
  • Coffee Hour will resume outdoors in the Fish Garden
  • We will continue to offer robust virtual worship options for people who are not ready to worship in
  • person

We are joyful about the return to full, in-person worship for those who feel comfortable doing so. This does present us a beautiful opportunity to practice love of our neighbor with kindness and grace as we care for those most vulnerable among us.

Sunday Coffee Hour Returns!
breakfast_coffee_orange.jpg
With more people coming back to in-person worship, we need your help to make Coffee Hour a success. Starting June 20th, Coffee Hour will take place outdoors in the Fish Garden (grassy area outside the chapel facing Richmond Place). We rejoice that we are at a place where we may start asking people to bring items to share. Below is a listing that shows the individuals who will be asked to contribute an item to share at Coffee Hour one Sunday per month, based on last name (see below). A reminder email will be sent out the Friday before your Sunday based on the last name we have on file.

Important note: When bringing items to share, please bring finger food only! Have food ready to serve, and without the need to have anything prepared in the kitchen. Acceptable foods include cookies, breakfast breads, donuts, pinwheels, breakfast/granola bars, etc. Please no dips, no salsas, or anything messy -- just something one may easily pick up one at a time. We truly appreciate your willingness to help in our hospitality and servanthood.

Summer Conversations with St. Mark's Clergy
Please call to sign up now!

We are eager to hear how the Spirit is moving in your life, and we are honored to discern how we can bless and support you in this season of change and transition. As a clergy team, our (admittedly ambitious) goal is to meet with all members of St. Mark's at least once this summer.

Please help us achieve our goal by calling the church office
Monday-Thursday, 9AM-1PM at 505-262-2484 to set up your summer meeting
with one of St. Mark's Clergy as soon as possible.

Children and youth, as well as adults; visitors and newcomers, as well as longtime members; geographically distant as well as local members: Everyone is encouraged to make an appointment! Just let us know what days/times are most convenient for you and if you would prefer an "in person", phone, or zoom appointment.  Our Parish Administrator, Jennifer Lind, will be glad to assist you in scheduling your meeting, then the clergy will contact you to confirm details (including location for "in person" meetings) the week of your appointment.

Thank you for helping St. Mark's continue to grow as a robust, healthy, spiritually connected community, by reaching out to make your appointment with a member of St. Mark's clergy today!
Call to Artists of St. Mark's

We are planning our quarterly art exhibitions in the Sacred Arts space beginning in September. The walls of the Parish Hall's Sacred Arts Gallery have been blank for over a year. As we emerge from the pandemic, it will be good to see the loveliness of art adorning the gallery again. Please consider submitting up to three pieces. There is no theme, however, we’d like to see plenty of vibrant color.

You may e-mail Audrey Minard (email here) with your information, questions or to request a form.
Information needed:

  • Address
  • Phone
  • Titles of pieces
  • Medium
  • Size (maximum 30” wide)
  • Price (20% to church)
Deadline is Friday, August 27.
