Dear Homeowners.

This is a reminder to homeowners with interior atriums. Please ensure that your atrium drains are clear and working properly. Please see the drain in the atrium photo above. This is an example of an unobstructed drain inlet that is equipped with a screen to keep debris from clogging up the drain line. This works very well, if the screen is also kept clean, allowing water to flow directly to the drain.

Please do not cover your drain, nor place any objects in a location that may impede the flow of water at the drain.

Additionally, it is imperative that the ground level be at least (4) inches below the entire weep screed, *see photo above. In the event of a water back up, this will help eliminate water intrusion into your home, and the home(s) of your adjacent neighbor(s).

The Association strongly urges you to flush your atrium drain and make sure that the water travels freely from the drain to the street.

We thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter.
