RRPS COVID-19 Testing Expands Service Days
Last week, Rio Rancho Public Schools announced a new drive-through COVID-19 testing exclusively for RRPS students and staff. This week, we are please to inform you that the testing site is expanding its days of service.

The site, located in the parking lot of 333 NM-528 in Rio Rancho (the AMREP building/Fat Pipe Location parking lot), will now serve RRPS students and staff five days a week, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Services at this testing site include symptomatic testing, close contact testing or surveillance testing. PMG USA uses rapid antigen tests for surveillance testing and rapid PCR tests for symptomatic and close contact testing. All tests use a nasal swab for collection.
To register to utilize this new testing site, click the button below. Please be sure to register prior to arrival. This is a drive-through testing site. Please remain in your vehicle for testing.
VACCINES FOR CHILDREN: Parents and guardians can now add their 5 to 11-year-old children to the state's COVID-19 vaccination registration portal as a dependent to the parent account. This will allow you to schedule a vaccine appointment for your children as soon as the roll out is approved. Scheduling could begin as early as next week per NMDOH. RRPS Hosts Flu Shot Clinic Oct. 30
Fall is here, and that means it's time for your annual flu shot. To assist students and their families in protecting themselves against the flu this Fall season, Rio Rancho Public Schools is teaming up with Albertsons to host a Flu Shot Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rio Rancho High School Horseshoe.

The clinic is open to all RRPS staff, students and their family members. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a consent form, (linked in the button below) filled out by their parent or guardian, with them in order to get a flu shot.

This is a drive-through flu shot clinic, when you arrive please remain in your vehicle and follow all signage. We ask that all occupants of your vehicle ages 2 and over please wear a face mask for the safety of the staff working the event.

Please bring your medical insurance card to get a free flu shot. If you prefer, you may also do self-pay for the shot at just $22 per person.

CDC Offers Safety Tips for Halloween
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has shared COVID-19 safety tips on how to safely participate in Halloween activities.

For Trick-or-Treaters:
  • Incorporate a face mask into your child's costume, even for outdoor trick-or-treating
  • Avoid direct contact with those handing out candy
  • Bring hand sanitizer with you and have your child use it after touching objects or candy (use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol; Please supervise your children)
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when you get home and before you eat any treats
  • Stay at least 6ft away from others who do not live with you
  • If you ride in a car to your trick-or-treating spot with others, wear a mask and roll the vehicle windows down until you arrive at your destination

For Those Handing Out Candy:
  • Avoid direct contact with trick-or-treaters
  • Give out treats outdoors, instead of the doorway to your home
  • Set up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take
  • Avoid homemade treats
  • Wash hands before handling treats
  • Wear a mask while handing out candy
