MINISTER'S MESSAGE
Beloveds,

Routine and muscle memory help me to make sure I Our themes in these two months go together like peas and carrots! We have to unchain our spirituality from dogma in order to make room for people who grew up with different rules and experiences. We can’t really practice inclusivity until we create room in ourselves for new ideas and experiences. In many religions, there is a definite right way and a definite wrong way to live, and no, you may not experiment. In my view, that whole attitude is about keeping the power, the access to a
deity, in the hands of the ministers. While there I might joke about having absolute power, I don’t really think it’s a good idea. Another aspect of “right way, wrong way” religions is that it creates a separation between our brothers and sisters in Christ Consciousness. Now we are blocked from each other here on earth as well as our own spiritual Self! Nope, that’s no way to spend the summer, much less a life. Since we all grew up with some degree of programming around separation, it’s up to each of us to set ourselves free. Isn’t that what this teaching is about? We unchain ourselves from beliefs that, as it turns out, are based on bad information and then live more fully and freely. What a blessing it is to live in a time when we can realize the prison door has never been locked. What a blessing we can find by going within, finding those old beliefs and letting them go.

Board Report
Hello and Blessings to all.

It is time to start thinking about our new Board. Our current Board is short a couple of members and two of them will be ending their current term. They may choose to run for re-election, but we still need some new Board members. I would love to see a few people who have a vision or experience to share with the Board and help our Center grow and improve. There are various roles for you to participate in and we would love your input.
In Living the Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes says, “To know how to think is to know how to create, and this power to create through thought is the execution of My Will in you, the manifestation of My Being through you.” So, I know you have creative thoughts and the Board would love to hear them whether you are on the Board or not. However, being on the Board will allow you to participate better and more often with other Board members. You will be part of a creative process that will make our Center a better place for everyone.
Our nominating committee will be getting together in August, so spend a few weeks thinking about yourself and being part of the CSLP Board. Think about your time, what role you would like to assume and what you would like to contribute. Our parking lot will be finished within a month or so. Shortly after that we will be relocating our labyrinth, doing some landscaping with hired help, designing and having new signage built and decorating our new wall below Hass Blvd. These tasks will depend on COVID and when we can get together, but I would like to get started as soon as possible. In fact, I am working on signs and Sonia is working on the wall decorations. As soon as feasible, we will present these ideas to the congregation for your approval, before any construction begins.

Blessing to all,
Tom Kimmerle (Board President)
PRACTITIONER PERSPECTIVE
The Good We Seek
More than ever the affirmation we say together each Sunday rings true. “The good we seek for ourselves is what we desire for all people everywhere.” I often find myself hearing those words in light of the recent health and social challenges we’ve been facing.   Much reflection and soul searching leads me to the question, “What is mine to do?”

Always I can practice GRATITUDE. I am very thankful for all the essential workers who have been going to work so we can have groceries, fuel and repairs for our vehicles, our mail and packages delivered, our garbage collected and on and on. I honor all the health care workers who have been so tirelessly caring for the multitudes of ill people. I’m grateful to my neighbors who have been doing their part by socially distancing as we all work to keep everyone healthy and safe. We have proven we can work together for the good of all.

For sure I can LISTEN. There have been numerous scientists, doctors, technicians, etc. explaining known facts about the Covid-19 virus and best practices to keep us healthy. Also, the many intelligent and articulate conversations relating what it is to have experienced systemic racism for generations help us understand our part in making this a world that works for everyone.

Listening to these conversations has been educational and inspiring and I continue to LEARN. I realize we must keep the conversation going. I must continue to build my awareness. I know that if I wish to be treated fairly and respectfully, then everyone must be treated fairly and respectfully. I can look for solutions and not just finger point. I can listen, really listen, without allowing my personal agenda cloud my thoughts. I can speak up when I hear/see an injustice. I can pray the words of St. Francis of Assisi, “Lord, let me be an instrument of your peace,…” as I continue to grow emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

With love and respect,

Diane Gessell, RScP
CONGRATULATIONS!!
It is with great pride that I present to you the 2020 Spring class of the Power of Your Word: Jessica Brunk, Susan Congdon, Chris Hofer, Sandy Jones, Nina Rochette, and Nancy Russotti.

For 8 weeks these magnificent women were pioneers as we navigated CSLP’s first on-line class via Zoom. I wish I could find the words how tremendous this group of women are, sharing their insights, their experiences, the “aha” moments. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the attached would fill a volume of books.

Each beloved has met all course requirements including their final project, and is able to identify the underlying factors for effective prayer, describe prayer content, write affirmations and treatments that address personal desires and needs, identify personal limiting beliefs, describe situations in which they interrupt their prayers, describe how to pray continuously, and have designed a spiritual practice that will continue to feed personal prayer. Congratulations on a job well done!

Love and more love,
Hazel Bowman, RScP
GET SUPPORT FROM THE HEART CONNECTION
During this strange time in which so many people are feeling stress, the Heart Connection continues to connect with those in our CSLP family. We are sending cards, writing emails, and making telephone calls. There have been car parades in Prescott Valley and Prescott with CSLP members parading by sequestered folks' homes, honking their horns, waving, yelling hello, and having encouraging, loving signs on their cars. This certainly brightened the day for those recipients! We are encouraging people to reach out to our wonderful Practitioners and to call us in the Heart Connection for any needs. We are keeping our CSLP family in our prayers and are all looking forward to the day when our Center opens again. Love and Blessings to all!

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
needle-thread.jpg
Many of you know Verle York. In this time of quarantine, Verle is creating lots of MASKS. She has made over 1200, and sent many to the Reservation. She says it has been her therapy and delight to share.
If anyone needs masks, please let Verle know. Her email  verle.m.york@gmail.com . She is also open to receiving donations of fabric. Just let her know or contact Karen Rader, Practitioner for questions.
Uniquely we are ALL expressing and giving to the planet in our very own way. Some giving is outward and visible, some quiet like sending prayers or healing energy like Reiki. Some people marched in our city to acknowledge Black Lives Matter. Some made food and donated to CCJ or maybe their neighbors.

Whatever you are doing, please share and we will add to the newsletter. Our collective consciousness inspires each other and celebrates who and what we are as The Center for Spiritual Living Prescott. if you have an idea to share, I would love to keep it going -- we are making a difference! Just give me a call at 928-710-1908.

I cannot do
All the good
that the world
needs
But the world
needs all the good
That I can do.

VISITATION MINISTRY
The month of May, 2020 continued to present challenges to the Visitation team. The month of May, due to social distancing and stay at home orders, resulting in closing of Retirement homes, and hospitals to visitors. The team relied on telephone calls to make visits.   During the month of May, 2020, nine (9) team members reported visiting (actual or Telephone) 16 separate individuals during the month; A total of 52 visits were made. In addition, the team reported participating in one (1) Virtual Prayer Circle for an individual who was undergoing a medical procedure.

Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you.

Love & Light,
David Sharer, RScP

ERNEST HOLMES QUOTES

"We need to develop a good-natured flexibility. Nature demands this, for if the tree did not bend before the wind it would break. We are apt to hold our thought so static that it finally becomes a habit which destroys not only our mental happiness but also the spiritual influx. Let us try to believe that if God is for us nothing can be against us. Let us live as though today would be our last day, which it might be, but at the same time let us live as though we were never going to stop living."

Ernest Holmes, Freedom From Stress

"Freedom is the birthright of every living soul."

Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind

"The seed of freedom is planted in the innermost being of us but it is up to each of us to discover and nurture the seed."

Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind
