President's Message
November is here, and Fall has arrived (finally).

I hope you were able to join us for the second program in the “Conversations” series we held on November 10. Our Diversity Committee Co-Chairs coordinated yet another phenomenal program with a group of fantastic panelists to share their experiences as women of color in our industry.

We’re also in the process of getting the annual meeting of the membership scheduled for December to not only recap the amazing list of accomplishments for 2020, but to discuss some big changes coming to our chapter in 2021 (here’s a hint… its bylaws revision time….).

Please be sure to get in your nominations for our 2020 WTS Chapter Awards. Those nominations are due back to us by December 4, so make sure to take the time and nominate those amazing women, men and employers that make working in transportation in the North Texas region such an absolute joy.

As we approach Thanksgiving, there are a few things I’m especially thankful for this year that I’d like to share with you. First is how thankful I am for our board of directors and leadership team. I don’t need to tell you all what an unprecedented year 2020 was.

Your Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter has not only weathered the challenges but embraced them. From the multiple attempts at scheduling an Annual Awards and Scholarships Banquet to learning how to put on virtual programs to holding a successful Annual Golf Tournament, you all have all been so phenomenal. It’s been quite a year to be president of this chapter, but you have made it so much easier with your flexibility, cooperation, and dedication. I’m also thankful for our corporate sponsors who, despite a rocky year, have continued to stand by us and support this organization and what it stands for. Lastly, I’m thankful for DART, especially the man who signs my paycheck, Mr. Gary C. Thomas, for not only allowing me the time to serve as your president but for always supporting this chapter in any capacity he can.
I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. Be safe, wash your hands, wear a mask, and as always, thanks for everything you do.

Sincerely,
Brittney Farr, Esq.
