Apr 6, 2022 Growing Groceries Class - Understanding Your Soil Test and Amending Your Soil
The WSU Extension Master Gardener Program in King County has launched its fourth season of Growing Groceries (GG) classes. All classes are offered to the general public and are ideal for the beginner to intermediate home gardener.
Classes will cover the major groups of vegetables and cultural strategies—from the principles of vegetable gardening in our maritime climate to the basics of soil preparation, garden design, variety selection, cultural requirements, major diseases and pests, pest management techniques, and harvesting strategies.
This series of 11 classes will help you learn essential gardening practices to grow your own healthy food, based on current science. Class content is taught at the appropriate time of year when it can be immediately applied in the garden. Instructors are WSU Extension Master Gardeners.
Understanding Your Soil Test is the fifth class in this year's GG series.
There is a modest fee of $7.50 per class this year. And we've introduced a Series subscription which gives you the option to purchase all 11 classes for $60, a 25% discount off the total cost. What's more -- Growing Groceries classes are being recorded and are available to registered participants. (If you sign up for the Series subscription now -- we'll send you links to recordings of the first 4 GG classes, to get you caught up!)
This class is eligible for a Financial Need Fee Waiver. To apply please submit this request form. If your request is accepted, you will receive a Promo Code to use when registering. Please apply for waiver no later than Sunday 5 PM before this Wednesday class.
