Hymn of Praise Maker In Whom We Live, v1,2,3 (UMH #88)
Maker, in whom we live,
 in whom we are and move,
the glory, power, and praise receive
 for thy creating love.
Let all the angel throng
 give thanks to God on high,
while earth repeats the joyful song
and echoes to the sky.

Incarnate Deity,
 let all the ransomed race
render in thanks their lives
 to thee for thy redeeming grace.
The grace to sinners showed
 ye heavenly choirs proclaim,
and cry, “Salvation to our God,
salvation to the Lamb!"

Spirit of Holiness,
 let all thy saints adore
Thy sacred energy, and bless
 thine heart renewing power.
Not angel tongues can tell
 thy love’s ecstatic height,
the glorious joy unspeakable,
the beatific sight.

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Steadfast God, we are thankful for your ongoing presence as you shelter us through the challenges of daily life. We’ve seen the power of your truth and the justice of your reign, yet we still struggle to live according to your ways. Forgive us, O Lord. Break us from our tendency to rely on our own strength and resources while looking with indifference on those who are hurting around us. Turn us toward you, renewed in faith, such that the good news of Christ’s kingdom may be revealed to all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hymn of Praise Lord Who Throughout These 40 Days, v1,3,5 (UMH #269)
Lord, who throughout these forty days
 for us didst fast and pray,
teach us with thee to mourn our sins
and close by thee to stay.

As thou didst hunger bear, and thirst,
so teach us, gracious Lord,
to die to self, and chiefly live
by the most holy word.

Abide with us, that so,
 this life of suffering over past,
an Easter of unending joy
 we may attain at last.

Hymn He Leadeth Me (UMH #128)
He leadeth me: O blessed thought!
 O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be,
 still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
 By his own hand he leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
 For by his hand he leadeth me.

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
 Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
 Still ‘tis his hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
 By his own hand he leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
 For by his hand he leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in thine,
 Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
 Since ‘tis my God that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
 By his own hand he leadeth me’
His faithful follower I would be,
 For by his hand he leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,
 When by thy grace the victory’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
 Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
 By his own hand he leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
 For by his hand he leadeth me.
