Construction Update

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION:
Sunday, July 16, through Friday, July 21, during nighttime hours, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., crews will continue installing duct bank along U.S. 2/7 starting just south of Mountain View Drive and continuing towards South Park Drive. At least one travel lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime hours. Side street access will be maintained throughout this work. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change.

Monday, July 17, through Friday, July 21, during the daytime hours, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., crews will continue paving operations along U.S. 2/7 and will resume work on the western retaining wall. Crews will continue paving sections of roadway along U.S. 2/7 disturbed during duct bank work. Paving operations will require the closure of various lanes. Crews will be installing the retaining wall along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside of the Interstate 89 bridge piers. This work will require the closure of the outermost southbound lane along U.S. 2.7. between the I-89 ramps. Only a single travel lane will be closed in each direction during daytime hours. Traffic will be maintained through traffic shifts.

All users should expect delays and plan ahead. 
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: 
Next week, during nighttime hours, crews will continue to install duct bank along U.S. 2/7 starting just south of Mountain Drive and continuing towards South Park Drive.

Next week, during daytime hours, crews will continue to pave sections of disturbed roadway along U.S. 2/7 and will resume construction of the western retaining wall that will run along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside of the I-89 bridge piers. 
Crews continue installing duct bank along U.S. 2/7.
LOCATION: U.S. Routes 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) in Colchester starting at the Winooski town line and continuing north for 1.05 miles to Sunderland Woods Road.

PROJECTED COMPLETION: Contract 1 Spring 2024 / Contract 2 Summer 2026

Translated Materials
VTrans is committed to providing a comprehensive and robust communications and public outreach program as part of this project. 

The project website has been upgraded to include a translation feature with the ability to automatically translate website content into 11 languages. 

In addition, the website is now home to a translated materials tab which includes several frequently asked questions and answers that have been translated into 11 languages with help from trained interpreters and translators from AALV in Burlington, Vermont.
