TOMORROW, Thursday 2/11 is a FULL DRESS-DOWN DAY! Students are encouraged to wear RED, PINK or PURPLE in honor of Valentine's Day!

Just a reminder! Unfortunately, due to our COVID-19 protocols, Valentine cards or treats from home will NOT be allowed to be passed out at school.
There is NO CLASS on Friday February 12th (Professional Development Day) and Monday February 15th (Presidents' Day)
An Important Message from Principal Sharon Garcia

Dear St. Francis Xavier Parents,

On February 9th our staff was given the opportunity to receive their 1st Covid 19 vaccine shot. We will receive our 2nd shot on March 9th. Our staff was very appreciative for this opportunity. There is evidence that there can be a reaction to the 2nd shot. Therefore, to be proactive, we will be scheduling an all-school eLearning Day on Wednesday, March 10th. We do not have the staff to cover classes if some of our teachers do have a reaction. More information will be provided as we get closer to that date. We know this may be an inconvenience for some of our families and we truly do appreciate your patience and support during this unprecedented time.

Be Well and God Bless,

Sharon Garcia
SFX CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2021 ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Community Appreciation Day!
Catholic Schools Week began with morning prayer and an All School Mass sponsored by Student Council and I-Arts.

Mass was streamed live to each classroom. Fr. Bill provided opportunities for each grade to participate by answering questions in their classroom. SFX parents received a link to attend today’s live streamed Mass virtually.
Student Appreciation Day!
Students at St. Francis Xavier School, LaGrange, IL enjoyed a dress-down day and Skittles Bingo (complete with the traditional corny jokes between games) and ... NO Homework! We appreciate our strong resilient students at SFX!
Vocations Day!
Thank you to Fr. Bill & Fr. Rich!

LUNCH & LEARN at SFX!

Fr. Bill certainly did not let his arm in a sling stop him from interacting with the students!

Fr. Rich spoke about vocations with props and guitar in hand!

Both shared the message about vocations to all students; tailoring their presentations beautifully & appropriately for each grade.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Day!
Thank you students! Thank you FSA!

Student Council followed COVID-19 protocols creatively in keeping the tradition of thanking each TEACHER & STAFF member... They directed all students to share their gratitude on sticky notes!

Faculty & Staff also received flowers, a gift certificate and delicious lunch from the Family School Association today! We are BLESSED with a supportive school community!
Catholic School / Blue Ribbon Appreciation Day!
SFX students in grades K-3 were excited to “meet” and virtually interact with author Karen Kiefer, as she shared her book "Drawing God" (https://www.drawing-god.com/the-book) with children at St. Francis Xavier School, LaGrange, IL in a virtual visit to wrap up our Catholic Schools Week activities!

The book's message is that we all see God differently, but that ultimately, God is LOVE!  During the month of February, Mrs. McGhee will be working with students in grades K-3 during art classes so that they can draw how they picture God!
SFX School Trivia
Catholic Schools Week at SFX ended with some School Trivia!

Parents, how do you think you did?
Thank you to the Moran, Dekoj and Kanzer Families for sharing their testimonials on social media during Catholic Schools Week.
Falcon Pride Virtual School Tour
We hope that you had a chance to view our Falcon Pride Virtual School Tour! If there was ever a more appropriate day to have a virtual open house it was last Sunday during the snowstorm! We have had a very enthusiastic response to the video. Please share it with your family, friends and prospective parents! At SFX we are #BetterTogether !
Sports Update from our Athletic Director:

As this time, we are not planning on sports returning at SFX for the remainder of the school year. We are looking forward to providing a complete year of SFX sports for the 21-22 school year!

Please keep a look out for 21-22 sports registration information after Spring Break. There is a lot of planning going on to bring our sports programs back next year.

**Please note that all athletes are required to have annual sports physicals to participate in SFX sports. Sports physicals are valid for 395 days so please plan your sons/daughters exam(s) accordingly to ensure they will be eligible to begin team practices for the seasons they wish to compete.
