NEW!
DOL Licensing Portal Back Online
|
As of March 1, 2022, the licensee portion of the Department of Licensing’s (DOL) professional licensing system is back online and in service.
Individuals can now renew their professional licenses, and apply for new professional licenses, online.
For the safety and security of our customers’ data, DOL took the portal offline on January 24, 2022, when DOL was alerted to suspicious activity involving its professional licensing database.
|
|
As previously communicated, DOL will not fine, penalize, or sanction a person for failing to renew their license during this shutdown.
However, now that the system is back up, you will need to update your status if your license lapsed during the shutdown by April 1st, 2022.

What’s Happening in Olympia
|
|
Today, March 4, 2022 is the last day to consider (pass) opposite house bills. While nothing is ever technically dead, be aware initiatives and alternatives to initiatives, budgets and matters necessary to implement budgets, differences between the houses, and matters incident to the interim and closing of the session.
There remain a few bills of concern:
Improving the States climate response added to the GMA - HB 1099 (oppose) PASSED now in the Senate. This adds new climate change language to the GMA and is widely opposed. Scope of the bill has been reduced.
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Buildings SB 5722 (oppose) PASSED. Now in the House. This originally contained rent control provisions, as it changes energy updates for commercial buildings. Adds economic impact statement. WR may move to a neutral position on this legislation.
There are a number of bills Washington REALTORS® support. Click on the button for a full update on legislation being considered.

Have you been to law school?
Probably not… yet you are expected to draft and use purchase agreements with the same expertise as a lawyer when preparing and using real estate forms to create contracts between buyers and sellers.
Complicating that task, you have over a hundred forms at your disposal through the statewide forms system and you must be able to navigate the forms and know which form to use when and how one form impacts another.
Enjoy Draft Like a Lawyer in person over two days in Kennewick, WA.
