Weekly Scripture Focus
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and don't depend on your own understanding;
remember the Lord in all you do
and God will give you success.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NCV

A Reflection:
We will all experience difficult choices in our lives. Which afterschool activities or sports do you want to do? What do you want to be when you grow up? Which college will you attend? Not easy questions and no easy answers.

The scripture directs us to trust in God, because God is always alongside us on the path of life. This doesn't mean the path will feel easy! But God offers to help us through the tough times on our life journey. We know we can trust in God with our whole heart!
  • Can you remember a time you had a difficult decision to make and didn't know which way to go? How did you make the choice? Who helped guide you?

  • What does the scripture mean when it says "don't depend on your own understanding?"

  • How can trusting in God bring us comfort every day?

A Prayer:
Thank you God for helping guide me along my path. At times on the journey, I will feel unsure, scared, or confused. But I know that all feelings are a part of life and You will be beside me in the happy times and the challenging times. I am grateful You are my friend and You are always there! Amen.
