"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar. We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.
We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs, hurts, joys, and interests."

We pray for the healing of all creation in nature, in our families, in our world community, in our politics, and in our lives. Help us to seek the good in and for all people. Help us to respond to needs that demand our compassion and attention. Help us to be grateful for all that we have and for all that we asked for but in your wisdom you have kept from us for our good and our peace. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for our church, our clergy, vestry, and all members. Help us to remain strong in our faith and in our commitment to our parish and to each other. We ask your continuing blessings on our presiding bishop Michael Curry, our bishop Robert Wright, our retired bishop Neil Alexander, and our priests Scott and Sue. Bless the Nonnemakers at Virginia Theological Seminary. Help us to complete our pledge commitments for the coming year so that we may continue our outreaches. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for our president Joe, for the leaders of the nations, and for all in authority, that they may compassionately work for justice and peace. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for all who serve in the military at home and on deployments. Protect them wherever they are serving. Pray for Jamie Davey, Jordan Davey, Brett Turner, Jennifer Parrish, Bart Ziccardi, Robert Rish, Kayla Ziccardi, Frank Caruccio, Joseph Lorenz, Wayne Lovell, Jessica Stephens, Mitchell Stephens, Brandon Richards, Drew Camp, and Jason Gregoryk. Guide, guard, and protect all law enforcement and first responders, including Don Scalia. Please cover all health care workers with your blessings of protection and strength as they work to save lives, including Dr. William Koeppel, Marika Csatary, JM Kidd, Chloe Gedney, Jackie Hayes, Dr. Barbara Camp, Roxanne Hall, Susie Murray, Susan Smith, and Candler Kimsey. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Help those handling the vaccine program to organize according to the guidelines set before them. So much has been achieved by science. Now we must continue to embrace our personal responsibility to do all we can to help control the spread of this deadly virus. We pray for those in our parish with immediate needs, including Christine Runkle, Jane Maier, Curtis Hixon, and Sue Duffield. We pray for those with long-term needs, including Carol Prescott, Helen Schlaefflin, Kelly Smith, Lloyd Mills, Gil Pollit, Jennifer Smith, Kevin LaForce, and Dennis Bergin. Pray for family and friends of our parish, including Jackie, Luci, Billy, Gordon Weatherby, Scott Casavant, Emily, Sheila, Richard Turner, Teddy Thompson, Jessie Mutchler Brownlee, Warner Brock, Ross McConnell, Ramona Brogdon, and Paul Roberts. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for mothers that await the birth of her child, especially Katie Rose Ledford. We pray that you will keep the newborn, the fragile infants, and vulnerable children safe from any illness or power that could harm them. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We thank you for these members of our church family who are celebrating birthdays this time of year, including Nancy Neel, Jennifer Scalia, and Louise Savoy, and those celebrating anniversaries. Meet them with blessings every day, and give them joy in the times you have made for them. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
