Mandatory Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training applies to ALL full-time faculty, staff, graduate students, or trainees (undergraduates, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scientists) participating in research or creative work. This mandate includes any individual supported through research funding, grants, and contracts.

Application Deadline to DREAM Scholars Extended

The Disparities Researchers Equalizing Access for Minorities (DREAM) Scholars Program supports the training of exceptional under-represented minority pre-docs, post-docs, and assistant professors who are committed to health equity research.


  • During the two-year program, participants will receive a solid foundation in career development and core human subjects research, with an emphasis on health equity research methods (e.g. community-based participatory research and dissemination and implementation).  
  • Each participant works with a mentor to create an Individual Development Plan, and the community of other scholars provides exposure to multidisciplinary research and clinical and translational science. 
  • Up to $5,000 in pilot funding ($2,500 yearly) and up to $3,000 of travel funds ($1,500 yearly) are provided. 
  • Dream Scholars and Associates are required to participate in twice monthly 1.5 hour meetings comprised of research and career development seminars and opportunities to present chalk talks and works in progress. Scholars will be expected to produce scholarly products, such as abstracts, manuscripts and grant submissions. Scholars and Associates will attend an annual 2-day writing retreat.

Request for Applications for CCTS/College of Medicine Research Alliance Pilot Grants

The UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is now accepting applications for collaborative pilot projects. The purpose of this funding mechanism is to provide a new opportunity and resources to support innovative, collaborative research relevant to the mission of each UK College of Medicine Alliance with the overarching goal of addressing the health challenges and disparities faced by the nation and the citizens of Kentucky. This mechanism is open to all UK faculty eligible to submit and receive externally funded grants.

 

We are accepting applications for projects in the following categories: 

  • UK CCTS/AI in Medicine Pilot Award
  • UK CCTS/Alliance for Diabetes and Obesity Research (ADORE) Pilot Award
  • UK CCTS/COVID-19 Unified Research Experts (CURE) Pilot Award
  • UK CCTS/Kentucky Research Alliance for Lung Disease (K-RALD) Pilot Award
  • UK CCTS/Maternal and Pediatric Research Alliance (MaPRA) Pilot Award

UNITE RPA Predoctoral Enhancement Program and Humanities Pilot Grant

UNITE Predoctoral Research Enhancement Program


The purpose of this mechanism is to engage racially and ethnically diverse scholars interested in an academic career with an individualized research program under the mentorship of one or more UK professors.

Applications are due May 31, 2023. Awardees will receive a $10,000 stipend and $1,000 annually to support research-related expenses. CLICK HERE TO APPLY

UNITE Humanities Pilot Grant



Pilot funding is available to support projects of merit that explore racial equity from a humanities/humanistic social sciences lens.
