Hey Legacy Family,
What an incredible month we had in April, celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and then hearing on Missions Sunday of all the great things happening with our partners! So many people have asked how they can get more involved either in missions or with our partners! If you feel the Holy Spirit leading you to be a part of the Missions Action Team, or any of our external focuses here at Legacy, please email me after you read this email.
BABY SHOWER
This Sunday begins our Real Options Baby Shower campaign where we partner in celebration of their clients' newborn babies! We will be assisting five mothers; my prayer is that we will be a blessing to their needs as a parent. In the Real Options Baby Shower section, you will find the registry for the items they need and the volunteer opportunities for the June 3rd baby shower. We will need 12 people to assist on that day. Please let me know if you have questions.
MISSION TRIPS
If you have felt the Spirit of God nudging you on going out of your current context and into a different one, then I would like to invite you to our informational meeting for our upcoming 2023 mission trips. We will be going to Tepic Mexico on July 22nd and Uganda on August 31st! Please sign-up for the meeting this Sunday, in the A "Cup of Coffee" and Mission Trip Info section!
OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY
This Saturday, May 6th we have an opportunity to participate in a car show with Robert Watson at the Plano Senior High School free annual Spring Classic Auto Show. We need at least 12 men to cover one-hour shifts to hand out cookies to the potential 600+ attendees. This simple serve opportunity will be held on the school campus, 2200 Independence Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075. Sign-up HERE.

We are asking you, Legacy Church, to join us in prayer all year long. Each month throughout 2023, we will focus on specific prayer initiatives for our church to pray over, together. In May, our prayer focus is on Legacy Church’s impact aroud the world.
In Mark 16:20, the disciples went forth and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere and the Lord was working with them and confirming the words of the gospel with signs. As a church going around the world to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, we by faith believe that the Lord will go before us and with us, confirming His words with signs and wonders so that the name of God the Father will be glorified.

A "Cup of Coffee" and Mission Trip Info | | |

If you missed out last month, join Pastor Patrick for a cup of coffee on Sunday, May 7th for his next mission trip information meeting.
If you have any interest in going on mission in 2023, you won't want to miss this meeting.
The next trip targeted for 2023 is to Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico with Heart4Mexico.

Personal Evangelism Class (PEC) | |

We must be up for the challenge because that is what Jesus has commissioned us to do.
Join us for the next Personal Evangelism Class, a 2-session class. We will talk about how to take our personal evangelism to the next level in this modern age and discover key do’s and don'ts when it comes to evangelism.
Session one is on Sunday, 05/07, after church service at 11:45 am, and will include lunch. Session two is on Sunday, 05/21, before church service at 8:45 am.

Summer 2023 - Mission Trip Applications | | |

We are now building our teams for the summer mission trips to Mexico and Uganda. Team members are expected to fundraise for the trip. Costs are estimated at this time. Complete an application to join a team!
Heart4Mexico, Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico
July 22nd-July 28th
Approximate Trip Costs - $1,400/person
Heavenly Bridge and Marissa's House, Mbarara and Kampala, Uganda
August 31st - September 12th
Approximate Costs - $2,500/person

Legacy Church is sponsoring a baby shower on June 3rd to bless families that have decided to give their babies life.
Be in prayer about helping on the gift registry and/or by serving.

If you are unable to go on mission trips, you can still participate in two other important ways. One is through prayer, the other through financial support.
Team members need to fundraise to help cover the cost of travel and accommodations. If you are willing and able to help support the teams, we are accepting donations on our giving site, simply use the pulldown "2023 Mission Trips" selection when making your donation.

Celebrate the Wins
Thanks to your faithful giving to the General Fund, in addition to Legacy's monthly giving to our mission partners, we celebrate:
- Heart4Mexico - $3,000 donation for the build-out of the Community Outreach area
- UTD Baptist Student Ministry - $636 for lunch sponsorship for the International students
- The Mills Community Church - $810 in support of an upcoming outreach opportunity in their community

Missions Sunday

Real Options Family Fest
Legacy Church hosted two games at the Real Options Family Fest “Spring at the Farm”, their largest client-focused event. Thank you to our volunteers that served. Everyone, clients and volunteers, had a wonderful time.

Kairos Prison Ministry
Thank you, Legacy Church. You did not disappoint when it came to baking cookies for the Kairos Prison Ministry. We provided 121 dozen, that is 1,452 cookies! The cookies were handed out to the prisoners and staff at Boyd Prison in Teague, Texas, along with a lot of prayers and conversations.

BSM Internatioanl Student Lunch
We had a full room of students at the UTD BSM Free International Lunch on April 11th. We enjoyed having a Legacy Student join in on a table discussion. Thank you Barrington Hunter, Heather Countryman, Tommy Snow, Susan Gibson, Susan Ting, Carey Veselka, Parker Veselka, Janelle Kjoelen, and Patrick Iga for serving on mission.
