During the upcoming Annual Conference, OML will be raising funds to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
Hunger in Oklahoma continues to be a significant problem and concern in our state. That is why OML will be hosting the first Beer & Wine Pull and Gift Card Pull during the conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to donate to the Regional Food Bank and ‘pull’ for beer or wine, as well as gift cards.
You can help in a couple of ways. First, you can donate either beer or wine or a gift card or secondly, you can purchase tickets to the pulls while attending the annual conference.
One hundred percent of the funds raised will benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
If you are a business and donate your beer, wine, or gift card, your company’s name will appear in our event program, in the event app, and on the event website.
To arrange a drop-off or a pick-up of your contribution before the conference, please contact
Ginny Wilson via email or by calling 405-528-7515. Donations may also be made at the OML office, located at 201 N.E. 23rd, Oklahoma City, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

TSET accepting Healthy Incentive Program Grant applications from Oklahoma Communities
|
|
Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) is now accepting grant applications from Oklahoma cities and towns through their Healthy Incentive Program.
During the incentive grant program from 2012 through 2017, TSET awarded seventy-six (76) grants for a total of $2.6 million to Oklahoma towns and cities. These grants have assisted communities in funding projects that work to improve the overall health of the residents who live there. Some of these projects include building basketball courts, making park enhancements, creating safe routes to schools, building farmer’s markets, and designing walking trails for community use.

OML Community Leadership Development Class 7 Travels to Guthrie for Session 3
|
|
Continuing with their Community Leadership Development (CLD), class 7 travelled to Guthrie recently for their 3rd session of the year, which focused on economic development trends and its impact on communities.
The class, which is made up of community leaders from across the state, met at the Oklahoma Territorial Museum, where City Manager Leroy Alsup greeted them for a reception and tour of the museum, hosted by the Friends of the Guthrie Museum Complex. Also attending and speaking to the class was Mayor Steven Gentling.

Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials
Tap Four Officials for 2018 Induction

|
Four officials have been tapped to be honored as the 2018 inductees into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials ceremony to be held at the Cox Convention Center in conjunction with the Oklahoma Municipal League Annual Conference, September 13th.
The 2018 inductees include:
George Fina, former Piedmont Councilman and Mayor, and former OKC firefighter
Mary Rupp, former Stillwater Deputy City Manager and former Perry City Manager
Craig Stephenson, City Manager, Ponca City
David Weatherford, City Attorney, City of Coweta, Town of Mannford, City of Sand Springs, and City of Mounds

Mayors! Show Off Your City! Bid Now for the 2019 Mayor's Summer Conference
|
|
Attention Mayors! We are now soliciting bids for cities and towns to host the 2019 Mayor’s Summer Conference. What a great way to show off your city! The tentative dates for the 2019 Conference are June 19-22, 2019. MCO will accept proposals for this conference until November 1, 2018.
Previous conferences have offered municipalities the opportunity to showcase their community development and improvement projects and to demonstrate their leadership in the State of Oklahoma.
