Feminist Walk Volunteers Needed!
Are you interested in volunteering to help plan and lead a feminist walking tour on Thursday, July 22?
These walks engage people of all genders to explore Calgary's feminist history, highlight current gender issues, and celebrate women in the city! We are always looking for people who bring fresh perspectives to get involved and represent the diverse women who have built and continue to influence this place.
Volunteers will be asked to attend three planning meetings over June and July, and the walk will take place on Thursday, July 22 at 6:00 P.M.

What can women access online?
A safer, women-only space to connect and chat with other women and volunteers - join to say hello and have a virtual coffee or tea with other women.
Up to 30 minutes of peer support in a breakout room where you can access information and referrals for food, clothing, furniture and more.
Up to 30 minutes of employment support in a breakout room with a skilled volunteer who can help review resumes, assist with job searching, practice interview skills, and more
Once you click the link above and answer a couple of questions, a host volunteer will welcome you in and help get you set up with whatever you are looking for.

Reconciliation Training Part 1
Join us online Monday June 7, 6:00-8:00 P.M. for Reconciliation training. This two hour training session will allow attendees to learn about Reconciliation in a safe learning environment. The training will include topics like:

Reconciliation Training Part 2: Allyship & Decolonization
This is the second part of our Reconciliation Training. Understanding Allyship & Decolonization is a workshop focused on decolonization and building stronger allies.
Join us on Thursday, June 17 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. to learn about the stereotypes and myths Indigenous people face, systemic racism, how colonization affected Indigenous women, treaties and the Indian Act from Indigenous perspectives. We will also be covering allyship, and the steps needed in order to build strong allies to the Indigenous community.

Social Issues Discussion: What's Next for Child Care?
Join us on Tuesday, June 29 from 6:00 -7:30 P.M. to hear about what's in the historic child care promise from the federal government, to talk about what your needs are, and to learn about things you can do to support efforts to improve access to affordable, quality child care in our province.

Registration opens on Monday, June 21.
The Girls Programs provide girls-only safe spaces where girls can learn and share knowledge about leadership, activism and community building. Programs are free and supplies are provided.
Learn about the history of the Women’s Centre, the Peer Model, and why we do what we do. This workshop is required for anyone to volunteer at the Women’s Centre and will be held online via Zoom.
These are conversation groups for women to practice English for daily life. These programs are free virtual drop-in programs for any English level and no testing is involved. Please register at the above links to access the weekly classes.
We invite you to join this weekly yoga class hosted by the Women’s Centre virtually. Perfect for all abilities. Participate in self-care. Focus on slowly moving into basic yoga postures while using your breath, which enables you to be present and mindful. You will leave the class with increased vitality and a fostered connection to yourself.
Connect for a Zumba class! It is all about the party! Dance, shake and groove in a fun dance-style aerobics class that is designed for everyone regardless of fitness levels.
Learn about what constitutes violence against women, systemic forces that make some women more at risk of experiencing violence, and the ways we can address violence and offer help to women who are experiencing it.

Join us in celebrating Spring with a plant and paint workshop! We will paint small pots and then plant a seed for you to take home to your own garden. This workshop will take place at the Women's Centre in the outside garden but will be moved online via Zoom if required by health restrictions.
Join us monthly to learn about the practice of Qi Gong meditation using breathing, visualization, simple body movements and sound to help balance energy. This gentle moving meditation is a grounding practice that promotes focus, calmness and peace of mind. This practice is easy to learn and can be done by everyone, at any age and fitness level. It can be practiced standing, seated or even lying down..
