A Million Thanks
Welcome to our new look! On December 1, we launched a new website and a new storytelling campaign (you'll read more about that below!), and we're gradually updating the look and feel of our communications. MYMoments is the newsletter you've always known and enjoyed with a bit of a facelift. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and our other new initiatives.

Speaking of a new look and feel, this year the holidays will look and feel quite different from those in the past. We cannot gather together to celebrate, but nevertheless we are connected in our hearts. This season we at MYM will celebrate this connectedness and express our deepest gratitude to our supporters. In spite of all the changes and challenges brought on by the pandemic, because of you we succeeded, as scheduled, in reaching our 1,000,000th individual this year! We are excited to continue growing our reach in 2021 and are looking to celebrate 2,000,000 in the years to come. Thank you for standing with us— albeit virtually— through this very transformative time. On behalf of the entire MYM staff, I wish you a very happy holiday season, however you may be spending it this year. We look forward with great hope for the coming year.

Join Our Storytelling Campaign
We are so proud—and excited!— to share our new storytelling campaign: #LivetoTell. By sharing personal episodes of resilience, rebound, and recovery, we can bring greater depth in understanding and validate a variety of lived experiences. #LivetoTell hopes to empower others to share their stories as well, through video, music, writing, artwork, poetry, dance, conversations, and many other expressions. Every life has a story. We want to know yours. Together, by sharing our stories, we can begin to shift the narrative society holds on mental health.
Looking Back
MVW13: Remembering
Major Van Winkle
On Thanksgiving Eve, friends and family took to the streets all over the country to remember Philadelphia native and significant presence in the Philadelphia music scene, Major Van Winkle. Lost to suicide in September of this year, Major's friends knew they wanted his music and memory to inspire others. But how? The Coast to Coast Half Marathon raised $15,000 for Minding Your Mind and Major's music inspired people in cities and countries he hadn't been to in life. Organized by Major's longtime friend Erin McElroy and his girlfriend Michaela Shea, what began as a list of seven names taped to Erin's fridge grew to more than 350 participants in cities coast to coast.
Minding Your Mind: ONLINE
Developed to serve the needs of schools during the uncertainty of the 2020-2021 academic year, Minding Your Mind: ONLINE is a registration-based platform of mental health education. Students continue to learn from our Young Adult Speakers about the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, as well as coping skills to manage many of life's inevitable difficulties. A one-year subscription provides access to all personnel in a single school and priority release of new modules.
Looking Ahead
Visit Our New Website
Much like #LivetoTell, the goal of the new mindingyourmind.org is to tell our story in a way that is relatable and will inspire others to take action. Our new website includes all the important information you found on our old website in a sleek, easy-to-navigate format. What's exciting is that it's able to host the Minding Your Mind Podcast episodes and the #LivetoTell library that is growing by the day. Take a look and let us know what you think!
Have You Seen Us?
Thanks to an extraordinarily generous and inspired donor, Minding Your Mind #LivetoTell billboards can be seen on major roadways all over southeastern Pennsylvania, and central and northern New Jersey. The advertisements launched on December 1 to promote the #LivetoTell storytelling campaign and welcome people to our new website. Keep your eyes open (and on the road!) and let us know if you see one of our #LivetoTell billboards during your travels
