Nurse's Notes:

As a reminder: students must provide a Doctor's note for any restrictions with an injury and/or a release of an injury. Also we have a 24 hour return policy after fever, diarrhea, or vomiting.

Please remember to submit updated immunization records to the school office. Your child must be in compliance before he/she can start the 2023-2024 school year.

Students entering Kindergarten will be required to have the following:

4 DTaP, DTP, or DT’s—Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis. (DTaP,DTP,DT are all commonly known as “tetanus shots”, the difference is the amount of diphtheria, and the presence or absence of pertussis vaccine);
3 Polio immunizations are required.
2MMR's - Measles, Mumps and Rubella
3 Hepatitis B’s are required;
2 doses of Varicella (chicken pox vaccine)

8th grade students will be required to have all the following as above in addition to:

1 T-dap
1 Meningococcal

It's almost time for Reading Buddies! We are looking for students currently enrolled in K-2nd grade to participate in the Reading Buddies Program this summer. The Reading Buddies program is designed to give children extra reading practice one-on-one with a teen mentor and to make the reading experience fun! We will be celebrating reading by doing creative projects and programs, as well as providing some snacks and giving away prizes!

It's a great opportunity to help combat the "summer slide", so please feel free to print and share applications widely! Here is the pdf of the application: HERE

A note for parochial schools with students in grades 6+: we're also looking for teen volunteers! Teen volunteers can earn service hours and a letter of recommendation for their work this summer. Here's the application for teen volunteers : HERE

Scrip/Fundraising

Scrip News:

If you received a HyVee $100 gift card in the last month, let me know if

the card has not been activated. We had 9 cards out of that batch of cards that

did not get activated. If this applies to you, you will need to send it back to me to get a replacement card.

SUMMER SCRIP

I will run scrip again this summer every other week. Orders need to be placed

by Monday at 10:30AM (by email or electronically). I will deliver the orders on

Thursday afternoons on the big flat.

Order June 5th - delivery June 8th

Order June 19th - delivery June 21st

Order July 10th - delivery July 13th

Order July 24th - delivery July 27th

Order August 7th - delivery August 10th

Other Fundraisers:

Yearly statements went home with your youngest student. Please read and

mark the appropriate box and return to school by May 8th . Any forms not

received by May 8th will automatically be donated to the school's general fund to

be used for school needs determined by the Principal/School Board.

Council for Drug Free Youth is hosting a Pickleball Tournament. $25 per person; register as a team with the Linc. Registration deadline is May 19. Get your team together today! Games will be played at various times throughout Friday evening and Saturday.

Church News

St. Peter Catholic Parish is seeking a full-time Parish Secretary. This position handles sacramental records, answers phones, and other administrative duties as assigned. This position interacts with parishioners, volunteers and visitors. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00PM. The individual must have good communication skills, a friendly demeanor, experience with computers and office equipment, and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of religious and secular personnel. Ability to learn new software and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel are essential. Catholic Stewardship Renewal/Time and Talent Form

TO BE AN “ACTIVE” CATHOLIC STEWARD MEANS:

To Pray: that is, attend Mass faithfully in the parish on weekends and Holy Days.
To Participate: that is, to use one’s time and talents to strengthen the parish community and advance the Gospel.
To Sacrificially Give: that is, pledge and remain current on a tithe of financial first fruits to support the life and ministries of the parish. The goal is 8% to the parish and 2% to other worthy charities.

Registration is now open for Helias Catholic High School’s

summer 2023 youth camps.

This year’s Crusader Camps include archery, baseball, basketball, cross country, dance, football, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.

Crusader Camps span from late May to August, serving age ranges from kindergarten through high school.
