Dear Residents -
As the election is still not behind us (at least not as of the time of this writing), I am sure that many of you, like myself, are suffering from election fatigue. Whatever the outcome of the election, please remember that in the end we will continue to be neighbors and, for some, friends. If this election has taught us anything, it is that there is a deep divide across America and, sadly, across our Town. Now maybe a good time to step away from some of the social media pages and actually talk with one another - about our families, our community and what we can do collectively to help bridge the divide.
We are now on our way to winter and, as warned, the positive COVID cases are on the rise around Rockland, including in Orangetown. While we need to continue practicing social distancing, wearing masks and washing our hands, more importantly, we need to try to avoid large gatherings - or super spreader events - which are being linked to many cases.
Thanks again to all of the organizations and businesses who helped to make our Halloween Drive-By a success. If your child was unable to attend, bags of candy will be available for a limited time in Town Hall for pick up. For further information, please email Supervisor@orangetown.com.
Next Wednesday is Veterans Day and, as a way to thank and honor all those who served, the Town will be hosting a Drive-By Lunch for Veterans and Active Duty Military. Please see below for details.
The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend so get outside and enjoy it before the winter arrives.
Respectfully,
|

Orangetown Police Department has a 24/7/365 policy to take in prescription drugs.
Note: They are unable to take needles of any kind.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween
|
We hope the children of Orangetown enjoyed the drive-by Trick or Treating Event as much as Princess Leah, Jack Sparrow, Dr. Shots and our local Witch.
We even had an engagement "piggy-back" off of our event!
Thanks for coming out!

Santa Claus is coming to town.......

|
"Ho, ho, ho! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the good boys and girls in Rockland County this year," said Santa Claus. "I know this will be a very different season for us all, but it will be a very special one because we all get to keep the magic of the season alive in a way that’s safe and memorable for everyone!"
A full schedule of events regarding Santa’s special appearances will be released in mid-November.

Santa Claus is arriving at the Palisades Mall on November 27th!
|
He’s making a list and covering his face, and in addition, this year, he’s taking steps to keep everyone safe… Santa Claus IS coming to town!
"It’s important to keep as much of the beloved holiday tradition alive, now, more than ever," said Palisades Center Director of Marketing Keri Cunningham. "We could all use a dose of Santa’s merry disposition, but we also have to evolve with the times and do it safely. We’ve been strategizing with Cherry Hill to accomplish that goal."
