The Women's Fund Announces New Research Report and 2020 Grant Recipients during Virtual Luncheon
On Tuesday, November 17, The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem held its 15th Annual Luncheon entitled, “Where Do We Go from Here?” where more than 200 members and friends of the Fund gathered in a virtual format to celebrate the power of philanthropy dedicated to women and girls.

At the luncheon, the Fund shared more about our work in 2020, released our new online research report, Through a Gender Lens: The Economic Security of Women and Girls in Forsyth County in 2020, and hosted an amazing panel of women who discussed key findings from the report. To read the report, visit wfgenderlens.org.

The Women's Fund also announced our 2020 grant recipientsawarding a total of $142,560 to 10 local nonprofits. Congratulations to our 2020 grant recipients and thank you to all of the local organizations doing important work to improve the lives of women and girls in our community.

The Fund is so grateful to our members, volunteers and donors for supporting our mission to engage our community to build the economic security of women and girls in Forsyth County.

Through a Gender Lens Virtual Series Kick-off
We hope you will save the date and join The Women's Fund on Wednesday, February 10th at noon as we kick-off our three part Through A Gender Lens: Virtual Community Conversation Series!

If you are familiar with the past two gender lens reports, you may notice that the 2020 online report has much fewer stories and narrative. This was an intentional effort on behalf of the Fund because we wanted to invite the community to play a role in helping us determine the narrative of this report, and more importantly, what actions The Women's Fund and the broader community should take to improve the economic security of women and girls in our community.

This three part series will be an opportunity for you to explore the report with us and partake in honest dialogue to help inform future advocacy efforts focused on women and girls, particularly women and girls of color.

Registration information will follow in January!

GRANTEE STORY
LEAD Girls
MEMBER PROFILE
Janie Wilson
In 2015, Joy walked away from a secure job to launch the nonprofit LEAD Girls of NC, a leadership workshop series that provides the tools and resources preteen girls need to become confident and active leaders in their communities. At the heart of the program: mentoring and peer support.

I am among the group of women who founded the Women’s Fund because we realized that not enough nonprofit dollars were going to organizations benefiting women and girls in our community. To this day, I continue to be amazed by the wonderful women in our community who know how to make a difference.

The Women's Fund wishes you a healthy and peaceful holiday season!
