Greetings!

Today is Winter Solstice, the shortest and darkest day of the year and a time to reflect within ourselves as we begin our passage towards Spring and more sunshine. To celebrate, we are sharing our appreciation for the bright lights in our world, those people and activities that bring us joy, soothe our spirits and cast light on darkness. The Garden To Table team is unanimous in citing meaningful work as one of our top ten. Thank you for supporting us in bringing learning to life in school gardens!

Sincerely,
The Garden To Table Team
Community Support
We'd like to recognize some in-kind donors that help us out behind the scenes. Lee Hill Peat donates all of our compost. Lyons Automotive recently fixed our truck. We received seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, High Mowing Organic Seeds, Johnny's Selected Seeds, and Sprouts Farmers Market. Slack helps us communicate from our home offices and gardens spread across the county. Patagonia has gifted our team with a box of seconds-- clothes that keep our team warm when gardens are cold. Avery Brewing Co. has donated 50 12-packs of Stampede Colorado Gold Lager for donors of $100 or more. Donate here for free beer. Thank you so much to all of these business, near and far!
Home Cooking, Family Dinners
Our nutrition intern has shared some healthy recipes to get us and our kids into the kitchen to make some seasonal, nutritious meals. Check out this Warm Quinoa Salad, these Fall Harvest recipes and these Fun Fall Treats for You and Your Littles.

First Bite: Boulder County Restaurant Week has produced a new cookbook, A Bite of Boulder, with 50% of sales going to participating restaurants. Two of our lucky supporters received a copy for being the first to donate on Giving Tuesday and Colorado Gives Day. You can still donate here. We will give one more away on December 31!
Down Time, Hobbies and Trails
Cat tunnels, trash looms and kid-created art are also bringing us joy this season. Cooking with Food Lab. Dog walks on a favorite trail followed by hot tea, holiday cookies and a farming documentary. We invite you to slow down with us and enjoy the season. Soon enough, we will be back in school gardens growing strong minds and bodies, and lots of veggies!
Thanks to Xcel Energy's generous matching contribution to our year-end campaign, we have raised $16,500 towards our $20,000 goal! We still have free Avery beer to give away to donors at the $100+ level. You can secure the future of school gardens with a donation today!
