My Dear Parish Family,
In this unique season that we find ourselves in, I can assure you that the clergy, faculty, and staff of Saint Dominic Parish have been working diligently to plan and prepare a modified Parish observance of Christmas. Plans and schedules have been established in an attempt to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the celebration of Mass and can be reviewed below.
That being said, it would be remiss not to acknowledge that COVID-19 remains a serious and infectious disease and the risk of transmission during public gatherings still exists.
Please be reminded that Bishop David O’Connell has granted the Catholic Faithful a dispensation from Sunday and Holy Day Mass obligations, until further notice. Attendance at a Public Celebration is NOT an obligation at this time. The Catholic Faithful can remain home in good conscience.
To best accommodate all members of our Parish family, the following Masses will be live-streamed through our Parish YouTube channel:
Christmas Eve: Thursday, December 24, 2020 - 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.
Christmas Day: Friday, December 25, 2020 - 10:30 A.M.
I encourage each of you to take time to pray, reflect, and plan an observance of Christmas that best benefits the health and safety of you, your families, and our entire Parish family.
A decision or adjustment such as not attending Mass in-person is something we’ve all grown weary of making and does not lack a heavy heart; however, it is the result of precautious actions and with great thanksgiving that we’ve come this far. It is imperative that we all continue to make decisions that protect ourselves and others.
In this unprecedented time, it is important to remember that although the observance of the birth of our Lord may look different, Christmas is not canceled.
It is my prayer that we each find joy and rejoice in the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Magno Cum Gaudio,
Fr. Brian Patrick Woodrow
