Dear Alumni,
The end of a calendar year always presents us with two options: looking back on what we’ve accomplished in the previous 12 months and looking forward to what we hope to accomplish in the next 12. Perhaps more so than in any other year, I look back on 2020 with exceeding pride in what the College of Engineering has been able to do. We adjusted quickly to new methods of learning and focused so much of our work and research on how to navigate through the pandemic.
Nevertheless, COVID-19 continues to affect our students in numerous ways, greatly impacting the ability for our students to participate in co-ops. As you know, co-op is integral to a Drexel education. Students graduate with real-world work experience, distinguishing them from their peers as working professionals the moment they begin applying to jobs.
We are asking for your help in connecting students to these vital experiences by providing remote or safe, in-person opportunities to students on a full-time or part-time basis. Recruiting for the spring/summer co-op cycle is underway. Employment begins on March 29, 2021. The deadline to post a job is January 12, 2021. We have many talented students available currently if you have an immediate need. If you are interested in taking part in the co-op program, please reach out to our Employer Relations team.
While co-op cycles will generally remain the same, we are looking outside the box to offer co-op options that will not compromise the student experience. For more information on the adjustments made to the program, visit Steinbright’s Response to COVID-19.
As alumni of Drexel Engineering, you are vital to our continued success. As the outbreak continues to impact our lives in unprecedented ways, we are deeply thankful for your engagement with the Drexel community as we stand together under these trying and fluid circumstances.
Below, I hope you’ll enjoy these stories of the great work that has been done by the Drexel Engineering community over the last year. We look forward to the day we can welcome you back to campus for you to see in person how bright our future is. I wish you happiness and health for the end of 2020 and beyond.
