An academic bilingual community fostering global citizenship
From the Principal
October 14, 2021

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

We hope that you have had a great week! While in classrooms this week, I have seen great energy and students trying their very hardest. This morning, I saw some fourth grade students sharing their metacognition for the process they used to solve the problem. Their brilliance and descriptions in Spanish made my heart smile.

I appreciate our community's continued adherence to our COVID mitigation strategies as we continue to prioritize in-person learning.  Please remember to keep students home when they are sick, including if they have any COVID-related symptoms such as a fever, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, chills, cough, runny nose/congestion, sore throat, headache or fatigue.

Our Parent/Teacher Organization's Leer-a-tón starts next week. Please see below for more information, and thanks for helping our children foster a love of learning.

Take care, and see you soon!

Sincerely,

Corey Maslowski

Helpful Info from MDH & CDC Regarding COVID Travel Considerations
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends delaying all domestic travel unless you are vaccinated. If you do plan to travel with unvaccinated people, resources are available from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and CDC to educate families about safer travel during the COVID pandemic.

St. Louis Park Public Schools recommends that unvaccinated children and adults quarantine for seven days after traveling out of state.

Box Tops due for Fall Deadline - November 1st
Thank you to everyone who has been clipping or scanning Box Tops for Education! For every Box Top submitted, PSI received $.10 and those submissions can really add up!

Even though Box Tops has gone digital, there are still some products out there that have unexpired traditional clips. PSI can still get credit for those as long as they are not expired. Send hardcopy Box Tops to school. There’s a container for them in the PSI office.

If you are unable to send hardcopy Box Tops to school, follow the step-by-step instructions on the BTFE.COM. website to safely submit your clips so they count toward PSI.

If you haven’t already, download the Box Tops app to scan your receipts & earn money for PSI! See products & learn more at BTFE.COM.

Thank you for your continued support!
