This Memorial Day we honor the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

On May 27th, FaithWork's staff hosted a BBQ at the House of Cornelius (transitional housing for homeless veterans) in honor of Memorial Day. Since gatherings have been discouraged, this was our first opportunity to safely gather and it was so nice! Current & past residents were joined by our volunteer of the year Gwen Love and long time supporters Ralph & Sherry Davis!!

Permanent Housing

We help residents tackle many goals during transitional housing but one of the most important is securing permanent housing.......

After a whopping 13 housing and waitlist applications, veteran Stephen has finally secured a permanent place of his own. We have walked in faith and guided him along as he waited for God's timing.

Congratulations on your new apartment Stephen!!!

Hard working mom Jasmine entered our program on fire for recovery! After redirecting her life, she now knows what she wants and we will continue cheering her on as she continues to reach for the stars! Jasmine and JJ now have a house of their own!

GOOOO Jasmine! We are so proud of you!

AND..... our search for a youth advocate ended when we found Emely Fabre. Emely joined the team in May and jumped in feet first in our new "Transitions" program. Emely is working with the youth and parents to help them build protective factors and mitigate the impact of adverse childhood experiences.

Welcome to the team Emely!!

AND.... a great big thank you to our funder: Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency-Public Health Branch, First 5 Shasta, and Community Foundation of the North State partnered to establish the ACEs Resilience and Hope Fund of Shasta County to support agencies and community groups working to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

What are ACEs?

We are currently in the process of screening Francis Court youth and parents for ACEs and have already begun laying the framework to help reduce the risk of futures occurrences!

Update on Francis Court III

With tremendous effort from K2 Development, Marc Knott, The City of Redding Housing Department, Shelly Kibler and with grant money from The NorCal COC HEAP funds (Shasta County Community Action Agency) and City of Redding Redevelopment funds this beautiful building is nearly ready to house homeless families!!

This miracle did not come without it's fair share of stumbling blocks! From challenging land development (due to Linden Ditch and the placement on Mercy Hill), market changes, and the pandemic, Francis Court III gave us a run for the money. Even in the end, after 1.7 million dollars of funding, this property utilized every penny and ended up short on budget for landscaping. Our neighbors and supporters Mercy Medical Center Redding chipped in $15,000 to help us get the job done! We are so grateful for the donation and impressed by the teamwork that got Francis Court III on the ground.
