Celebrating Small Business Week with the SBA NY District Office
On September 14, our center partnered with the New York Small Business Development Center network and the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) New York District Office to celebrate National Small Business Week and host a webinar discussing small business financing options for owner-occupied real estate purchases. As part of the event, a panel of active small business lenders representing Dime Community Bank, TruFund Financial Services, and Pursuit provided valuable insights about their institutions' approaches to the SBA's 504 and 7(a) loan programs and other financing options they offer. The panelists also answered entrepreneurs' questions about lending. Watch a recording of the event on our blog post.
COVID-19 Relief Updates
When changes are made to COVID-19 relief programs such as EIDL, SVOG, and others, small business owners and entrepreneurs need to know. We publish regular updates about COVID-19 relief to our blog and keep our COVID-19 Small Business Resources webpage as up-to-date as possible. If you have questions about program changes, eligibility requirements, or applying for COVID-19 relief, contact the Pace SBDC and meet one-on-one with a business advisor at no cost.
Success Story: Blind Barber
The Pace University SBDC is proud to share our latest success story! Business Advisor Sandra Cely helped Adam Kirschenbaum, founder of the East Village-based Blind Barber, fully understand the requirements of and successfully receive two grants from the Global NY State Trade Expansion Program (STEP). With this new funding totaling $12,000, the company has the capital needed to expand into overseas markets. Read the full story on our website.
Fall 2021 Webinar Series
Our Fall 2021 webinar series includes experts in accounting, business formation, intellectual property rights, sustainability, financing, marketing, and other areas. All training hosted by our center is provided at no cost to entrepreneurs. In many cases, trainings feature presentations by Pace University faculty. Visit our events page to learn more and register for upcoming webinars.
We've Moved to One Pace Plaza
The Pace SBDC has moved to One Pace Plaza! The new space is on the fifth floor of Pace's main building in room W501. Our team is still only meeting with entrepreneurs remotely, but we're looking forward to welcoming clients in the future. We're also thrilled that our former neighbor, the Pace Entrepreneurship Lab, has moved to the fourth floor of One Pace Plaza. If you work or attend class at "1PP," give us a wave next time you walk by!
