Dear SMCS Families,

Thank you for your continued support. This week we welcomed back another group of our remote learning students. It is wonderful to have so many students learning in-person at school. Special thanks for everyone's hard work with our safety protocols and practices. As we approach the holiday season, it is extremely important to continue these safety procedures regarding small group gatherings, social distancing practices, and mask-wearing.

For those of you who are planning to travel or visit with extended family and friends, please consider the community transmission rates in the area where you will be and the risk of unknowingly transmitting this disease. I have included a few links below that provide safety guidance for Thanksgiving. Thank you for your continued effort and sacrifice in the collective interest of keeping our community members safe and our campus open.
Thank you for your support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Dr. Kathleen Cox

St. Michael Catholic School Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is a symbol of our commitment to the Mission of St. Michael Catholic School. Thank you to those families who have already generously donated! This year's theme, Anchored in Faith, reminds us that our Catholic Faith is central and at the core of the St. Michael experience.

To learn more about the Annual Fund or to make a gift, please visit the Annual Fund Website. Annual Fund questions may be directed to Director of Development Laura Dols, at [email protected].

How does the Annual Fund help teachers?

Michelle Brown, PreK 3 Teacher
PreK3 Teacher, Michelle Brown is thankful for the plethora of resources available to our littlest learners. Having material such as "loose parts" bins, fine motor manipulatives, books (the latest and classics), building materials and well stocked writing and art and literacy centers allows for a higher level of student engagement and provides a wider variety of meaningful experiences for our students. Thanks to the generous Annual Fund donations our Pre-K 3 students are given experiences that make them inquisitive, thoughtful learners with a strong foundation to continue their SMCS education.

Tiger Track
Give Back

Covid-19 has made this year difficult in so many ways and has highlighted a need to help others while remaining socially distant. We are thankful for our SMCS families and we can still show our Tiger Pride while supporting local businesses who have supported St. Michael.
The PLUS Social Committee has organized Tiger Track to Give Back as our way of giving back to our community while staying safe.

Click here for the Tiger Track Give Back flyer. On the flyer, you will find SMCS-family owned businesses as well as businesses who have historically generously supported St. Michael in various ways. As you consider your shopping needs, or when deciding on a local restaurant for dine-in or take out, we invite you to visit the businesses on our Tiger Track as St. Michael's way of saying thank you!

Families who shop 5 or more of these businesses will earn a free dress pass for your students. At checkout, ask for a signature on your Tiger Track. Please turn in the flyer to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday, December 2nd. Flyers are applicable to the entire family. We hope you will join us and help thank these local businesses for supporting SMCS while showing our Tiger Pride!

Carpool Reminders
  • Please make sure students have their masks on before you pull into the parking lot for morning carpool.
  • Please do not block the alley between Del Monte and Chevy Chase during carpool.
  • Please follow all instructions given by the traffic officers.
  • Second carpool cars must wait until at least 3:10 pm before entering the parking lot to line up.
