Haralson County Celebrates Progress Resulting from Single County TSPLOST
Thanks to the passage of the Single County Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST), Haralson County has made great progress in paving county roads. The county passed the Single County TSPLOST in 2017 and again in March 2022. Haralson County Chairman Ronnie Ridley reports the county has doubled the number of roads paved and resurfaced, as well as paved the recreation facility and added road maintenance equipment as a result of these funds.
ACCG Participates in Houston County Special Recognitions
ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills travelled to Houston County this week to present former Houston County Commissioner Dan Perdue with his core certification for ACCG's Lifelong Learning Academy program (left photo). Perdue resigned his seat earlier this year in order to run for county chairman and won the Republican primary in May. Wills also welcomed U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Jon Eberlan as the new commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistic Complex (right photo).
Whitfield County Opens Rocky Face Ridge Park
The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners recently held a grand opening for the 1,000-acre Rocky Face Ridge Park. The park is a multi-use recreational facility, offering a scenic hiking and biking trail. The park also will preserve the rich Civil War history in the area.
