The Solano Community College Board voted to approve a "COVID vaccine or testing" mandate which will be enforced starting Friday, October 15. Masks are currently required and will continue to be required when entering college buildings, regardless of vaccination status.
Students will be required to either get vaccinated, get tested, or take online classes and use online student services exclusively.
· If you are not yet vaccinated, but wish to be before Oct. 15, you have many options. See the schedule of vaccination sites in the community. Also, most pharmacies and supermarkets now offer walk-in vaccinations.
· If you are not vaccinated, and are taking in-person classes or seeking in-person services, you will need to upload test results taken within 72 hours before attending class or accessing services. The college will be offering free testing 5 days a week (M-F), including some evening hours (this will be a relatively non-invasive “spit in a cup” option). Upload results to your Canvas page.
Employees and volunteers will also be required to either get fully vaccinated by October 15 or be tested with a negative result before entering college buildings.
We understand the mid-semester implementation is not ideal and we appreciate your understanding that the College is doing its best to keep students and staff safe.
