WSAE members are invited to participate in Looking Forward 2022 Impact; the nation's longest-running, most comprehensive environmental scanning research of the association business environment.
Everyone completing the survey will receive access to a dashboard of the survey results, giving you timely access to valuable data on the state of the association business sector and allowing you to compare your responses to those of your peers.

The research is being conducted by Association Laboratory, an independent strategic research firm specializing in association business strategy. WSAE is one of nearly 20 global, national and state societies for association executives encouraging participation among its membership/stakeholders in this research via the Association Laboratory Research Alliance.
The longevity of the survey, ability to create actionable insights from the data, and diversity in responses supports WSAE’s efforts to provide you with the tools you need to foster strategic, future-focused discussions that impact your association’s strategy today.
The survey will take you up to 15 minutes to complete. Please note that you must complete the survey at one time or keep the survey window open when you switch to something else in the midst of responding. If you exit before finishing the survey, you will need to start over at the beginning. Partial responses cannot be saved. The survey closes December 10.

Scholarship for Institute for Organization Management available
WSAE is proud to partner with Institute for Organization Management, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s professional development program for non-profit executives, and offer one $500 partial tuition scholarships to one of Institute’s 2022 sites. Scholarships will be awarded to students attending Institute for the first time to assist with enrollment fees and cannot be combined with any other Institute scholarships.
For over 100 years, Institute has educated association, chamber, and other nonprofit leaders across the country through its national program, highly rated curriculum and high caliber instructors. Thousands of executives have attended Institute sites across the country to strengthen their management skills, learn industry best practices, and gain a broad national perspective from peers. Institute has helped them build stronger organizations, become stronger business advocates and better serve their members. In addition, you will earn points towards your CCE or CAE certification as Institute’s curriculum is directly tied to those two bodies of knowledge.
Upon completion of the Institute program, graduates receive the IOM recognition, which allows them to use the letters “IOM” in public mention and professional correspondence. The IOM recognition signifies the completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management and commitment to the industry.

Stremmel named new executive director of Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin
The Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin (BCAW) is excited to announce the hire of Neil Stremmel as their next executive director. Stremmel will be replacing long-time association executive Yvonne Bennett, CAE who earlier this summer announced her resignation of the position effective 1/1/22. Stremmel is a long-time bowling executive who will be returning to Wisconsin after relocating with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) when they left the Milwaukee suburb of Greendale to form the International Bowling Campus in Arlington, TX with industry partner BPAA (Bowling Proprietors' Association of America). Stremmel will assume the position on January 3rd. Bennett will continue to be employed by BCAW, serving the sport of bowling as she eases towards her announced retirement date of May 2024. Fond du Lac's historic downtown buildings experience rebirth
The rebirth of Fond du Lac's historical properties in the vibrant Downtown District continues apace. Opened in 1923, Hotel Retlaw underwent a recent $30 million renovation adding modern amenities, technology, conference space, and dining venues. The Hotel is steps away from the stunning Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, which is equal-parts reimagined Masonic Temple and modern art venue. 18 hands –said to be the oldest building in town, once a livery stable – is now a German-inspired tavern and outdoor Biergarten. And most recently the opening of a magnificently repurposed 100-year-old church to a fun and trendy dining hot-spot. AMPED Selected to Manage American Wire Producers Association
AMPED Association Management, an accredited full-service association management company with offices in Middleton, WI and Metro Washington, DC is pleased to announce it has been selected by American Wire Producers Association (AWPA) to manage their operations.

Wisconsin Center breaks ground on 2024 expansion
The l ong-awaited convention center expansion reached a major milestone today with the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) breaking ground on the construction site. Expanded convention center will increase size to 445,000 total sq. ft. including a larger exhibit hall and rooftop ballroom with outdoor terrace overlooking downtown Milwaukee. In addition to WCD leaders and staff, several local leaders, government officials, and additional guests attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

ASAE voices support for Pandemic Risk Insurance Act
ASAE has endorsed the Pandemic Risk Insurance Act (PRIA), recently reintroduced by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) to establish a federal backstop for financial losses due to a future pandemic or public health emergency. This is an important step to help protect our community and promote its ability to host events critical to our constituents, local economies and the U.S. economy as a whole. More information.

Complete ASAE’s new research survey on association insurance
In an effort to build support in Congress for the important Pandemic Risk Insurance Act, ASAE’s Research Foundation created a new survey to collect data regarding association insurance and our community’s capacity to host conferences and events. Strong data are essential to make for effective advocacy, and we cannot overstate the importance of our community’s unique story in conversations with legislators and Congressional staff.
