WHAT ABOUT GOOD WORKS?
I always like it when someone does something nice for me without asking. It is a true blessing. Yet, many would do things to try to earn love from another person. That truly is manipulation, and anyone doing it should stop. Also, there are those people that demand that we do things to prove our love. That is manipulation also.
Many cults are “works” oriented. This means they believe if they do enough good, and it outweighs the bad, then God will be pleased with them. Some ways that they do this are knocking on doors, handing out magazines, and taking ridicule. Many also get caught up in works, hoping that doing all the right things at Church or for your family, but doing it out of guilt rather than motivated by the love for God.
In Ephesians 2:8-9 it tells us, “For by grace (undeserved favor) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Doing the right thing does not save us. We can never be good enough because of the sin nature inherited from Adam. We receive Christ through faith, and after receiving we do the right things out of love.
God wants us to do good works, but not to earn his love. His love is a free gift, given to all those that will receive it. Works come as a result of that love we have for God. We do it to please Him. Just like a husband or wife want to please each other, they do things for each other out of love.
If we have love for God, it is natural to do things for him. Just don’t think it makes him love us any more than He does. He could never love us any more than He does, because He gave His ultimate gift when He gave us Jesus. There isn’t any better gift of love. We will be rewarded for what we do with what He gives us, after we are saved, but it doesn’t earn us salvation. Salvation is a free gift received by faith.
Are we love motivated or works motivated? I pray that all you do is out of love and not for “brownie” points. Those that have the wrong motivation will see those works burned up. They will still be saved but will have little if any reward. Let love be your motivation.

TO GIVE AND BE GIVEN – LESSON 10
GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE
We shall “be given” eternal life when we accept God’s “love gift” of Jesus Christ, God the Father’s only born (begotten) son, which reconciles us to our Holy God.
By accepting God’s gift, Jesus, we are given the gift of eternal life in the kingdom of heaven. We shall be eternally with Jesus, our Lord and King. Our soul lives forever in harmony with God and His love.
Those who reject Jesus, and those who live a self-centered life apart from God, or who live an evil and sinful life will also live forever, except that theirs will be a life of eternal torment. When one rejects God’s love, they suffer the consequences of that rejection.
God, in His love, does not wish for any person to go into an afterlife of torment. II Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” However, many people will never come to repentance and receive His love gift of Jesus. They have been given a free will and must choose for themselves.
Those who choose to repent of their sinful condition (into which they were born) and believe upon the Lord Jesus are the ones who receive God’s gift of eternal life in heaven (paradise).
Accepting God’s “love gift” also gives us that eternal life in Christ Jesus, a gift given forever.

June 20, 2007
Open your eyes to see saith the Lord, for the day is coming, and now is that great fear and gross darkness shall cover the earth. For men shall faint and be fainthearted looking after things and I would say unto you, Look up, look up, for your redemption draweth nigh. For surely it shall happen as I have said in days of old ~ It shall surely happen, but fear not for my light shall surely shine on your path and you shall be guided by my Spirit. Stay close to me saith the Lord, for I am your rear ward. I shall protect you. I shall surely provide. I shall provide a table in the wilderness. Blessings shall surely flow and overtake you. Stand firm, my child. Look not at all at the soon coming terror. I shall be your provision. I shall surely provide. Incline your ear to hear my spirit. Lean not upon your own understanding. For as I have provided before, I shall surely do it again. Hold fast my child! Hold fast. Look unto me for every, yes I say every need for they shall surely be provided. You would sing Jehovah Jirah, but now you must believe it. Hold fast to my Word ~ for my promises are true. I shall never leave you or forsake you. Provision is coming my child. Hold fast to my promises saith the Lord
