  • David Galvan, is married to his wife, Elvia, since October 26, 1972 and is the father of four grown children.
  • He earned a B.A from Pan American University 1973, and a Master of Ministries from Criswell College 1980.
  • He has been the pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida “New Life,” in Dallas, Texas since November 15, 1981 (the church was previously in Garland, Texas); www.newlifedallas.org
  • He is an active member of the Dallas Baptist Association since 1979 and has served in many committees, including the Administration Committee, Pastors' Conference President, Program Chairman, and as Moderator of the Executive Committee.
  • He was elected Second Vice-President of the Southern Baptist Convention for 1997-1998.
  • He served as Trustee at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1998-2006 and as Chairman, of the same, for the last two years of that tenure.
  • He was elected First Vice-President for the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention from 2002-2004.He served as Trustee at the Criswell College, 2010-2012 and 2017-Present, currently serving as Chairman for 2020.
The Executive Director Search Committee has met two times and asks for your prayers as they seek God’s will for our next executive director. A survey link was sent to DBA pastors last week for their input. Contact Cindy if a pastor did not receive the link. Please keep the committee in your prayers – Gary Singleton, chairman, Greg Ammons, David Galvan, Larry Sanders, Peter Le, Chris Simmons, Bedilu Yirga, Robert Castillo and Brent McDougal. 
Zúme Training Opportunity begins this Thursday, 1:30 – 3:30 PM. This online and in-life discipleship training model has become very popular here in the USA and internationally. Led by DBA consultant Tim Ahlen, this approach to discipleship puts simple, free, reproducible tools into the hands of new and mature believers. The training will take place online for ten 2 hour sessions beginning this Thursday. To register, click here.
We are very excited about the launch of our new Podcast WHAT I WISH I HAD KNOWN/WHAT I WISH THEY KNEW. We are thankful to God for the opportunity to interview a very special guest that has impacted the lives of many people with his leadership.
