NYLT is a six-day program that focuses on teaching Scouts the skills necessary to become effective leaders in their troops, communities, and future careers. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on activities, and team-building exercises, Scouts will learn how to communicate effectively, make decisions, solve problems, and motivate others. They will return to their troops with new skills and a renewed sense of confidence in their abilities.
The NYLT program is designed for Scouts who have already achieved the rank of First Class or above, and who are between the ages of 13 and 18. The program is led by a team of experienced youth leaders who have completed the course themselves and have been trained to teach and mentor others.
- Mayflower Council will be running this course June 25-30, 2023 @ Camp Squanto.
- Daniel Webster Council is also running this course June 25-30, 2023 @ Camp Bell.
I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to help your Scouts develop their leadership potential. One pre-requisite is that the Troop runs an Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST). If you have not run one or need assistance in running one, reach out to SquantoNYLT@gmail.com.
