Due to Covid-19 health concerns, this one-time online event has been approved by APT for 3 CONTACT/CE Hours.

Description:

All treatment plans must correspond to the diagnostic assessment and diagnosis, and be written in measurable, objective, and behavioral terms, reflecting what the client will achieve as a result of therapy.

We will begin with a review of the process for case conceptualization by identifying the 5 factors: Presenting Problem, Predisposing, Precipitating, Perpetuating, and Protective factors, followed by writing goals, interventions, and documentation in the clinical records. Participants will receive a rich array of handouts and examples for future reference.

This training is a product of years of experience in creating documentation for children and adults. The hope is that it will help improve skills and write excellent goals and treatment plans for all clients.

Objectives:

  • Define the problem based on DSM-5 diagnosis
  • Identify the process of documenting a variety of behavioral definitions
  • Describe the five P’s of case conceptualization
  • Demonstrate the process of correctly formulating long-term and short-term treatment goals
  • Create therapeutic interventions for the client based on case information
  • Demonstrate the process of documenting progress or lack of progress toward treatment goals
