Letter from Administration
Dear Bishop Hartley Families:

We are pleased to be able to celebrate Homecoming 2021 with a dance for our students. The event will take place Saturday, October 9 from 7-9 P.M. This letter contains important details and reminders for our students who will be attending and their parents.

Check in for the dance will begin at 7 P.M. and close at 7:30 P.M. We will contact the parents of any students who have not checked in by 7:30 P.M. No students will be permitted to leave the dance prior to 8:30 P.M. Students must be picked up by 9:15 P.M.

Students must bring their Bishop Hartley student ID for check in. Freshmen and sophomores should enter through the main lobby doors, check in, and proceed to the Dick Geyer Gymnasium. Juniors and seniors are asked to park in the back parking lot and check in at the TACC entrance. All students are required to wear a mask during the event. As a reminder, no heels are permitted on the gymnasium or TACC floors.

We have met with all classes this week to discuss expectations regarding attire and behavior. We have reminded our students that they are Hawks 24/7. Thank you for joining us in reinforcing to your son/daughter to make healthy choices and to be young men and women of character.

We look forward to a wonderful evening with our students and thank everyone who has worked to make this event possible.

Sincerely,
Christopher Kowalski, Principal
Andrew Jahahn, Vice Principal of Operations
Dr. Patricia Hanna, Vice Principal of Academics

Clubs & Extracurriculars
The Bishop Hartley Chapter of The National Honor Society inducted 96 new members September 22nd. The evening event was attended by parents of the inductees and was live streamed for the benefit of those unable to attend. The recorded event remains accessible on our YouTube Channel.

NHS members will plan several activities this year centered on the organization’s pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. This includes our student tutoring program, TEACH (Tutoring for Excellence and Achievement). Students or parents can request the help of an NHS tutor through the counseling office. Tutoring takes place after school during SEEK or at another mutually agreed upon time.
Clubs and extra-curricular activities continue to form and plan activities for the year. Check out the full list to see what might be of interest to your son or daughter: https://www.bishop-hartley.org/campus-ministry/extracurriculars/

Nurse's Notes
Continue to stay up to date on the latest news regarding Covid 19 by checking the Nurse’s Notes page of our website.

Also stay tuned for more details about a flu shot clinic for Hartley students on Tuesday, November 9th. Special thanks to our school nurse, Greer Edwards, R.N. for arranging the clinic.
Campus Ministry
Fr. Fulton continues to offer multiple opportunities for students to attend Mass or adoration each week. The schedule is posted outside the chapel.

Join the Reflect & Revive group after school on Tuesdays for prayer and fellowship. Each meeting centers on a theme for discussion or small witness talks. The group plans to use Catholic spiritual practices such as the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the rosary, praise and worship music, and adoration, This year the group is also working with visiting seminarians and planning fellowship meetings for members to get acquainted with them.

Check the calendar of upcoming events for upcoming retreats. Students also receive information through their religion classes.
House Parent Organization
The House Parent Organization is now forming committees to plan events for the year. Please email Molly Maloof to be part of the teacher appreciation event, parents’ nights out, used uniform sale, senior breakfast, baccalaureate reception, and the style show luncheon.
Evening of Excellence
The Evening of Excellence is a night when our community comes together for Hartley's largest fundraiser to support merit-based scholarships and need-based tuition. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022, and will include mobile bidding. There are many opportunities to become involved and volunteer with the auction. Please consider attending our first meeting on Wednesday, October 20th at 6:30 p.m. at Hartley to see how you can help.
