Nonprofit Know-How to Focus on Prioritizing Equity in Linn County Nonprofits
The Nonprofit Network will host two upcoming Nonprofit Know-How sessions via Zoom.

Nonprofit Know-How: Prioritizing Equity in Your Linn County Nonprofit will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 12 to 1 p.m. on Zoom. Register here. Nonprofit professionals will hear from the Community Foundation about our learning and strategies to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in our organization and community. We don't want to simplify a complicated issue, but we do want to provide a path for organizations to engage. We invite all nonprofit organizations to come along this journey to learn with us.

We will share about activities the Community Foundation has been doing in 2021 to prioritize equity including the formation of a new grantmaking equity statement and a review of mission, vision and values. We also look forward to sharing data from the recent racial equity survey of nonprofits (Click here if your organization has not yet participated). We hope you can join us for this opportunity to learn together and begin considering strategies that might work in your nonprofit organization.

Mark your calendar and register here for the Nonprofit Know-How: 2022 Grants at the Community Foundation Q & A on Monday, January 24, 2022, from 12 to 1 p.m. on Zoom.

DECEMBER PEER GROUPS
The Nonprofit Network will not host Executive Director, Manager, or CFO Peer Group in December and encourage members to attend the Nonprofit Know-How. We will host a combined Development and Marketing Peer Group in December due to the holiday.

Nonprofits Encouraged to Complete Racial Equity Survey by December 9
On October 19, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation launched a Racial Equity Survey of Nonprofits to better understand how organizations are thinking about and working toward racial equity in our community. Information gathered through this survey will help guide Community Foundation grantmaking and community leadership strategies in 2022 and will be shared at the December 16 Nonprofit Know-How: Prioritizing Equity in Your Linn County Nonprofit. If you have not done so already, please designate one person at your organization to complete the survey HERE by Thursday, December 9. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

American Rescue Plan Act Application for Funding Now Available
The City of Cedar Rapids and Linn County have launched a joint application process for the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. ARPA funding is designed to help eligible state and local governments respond to the economic impact from the COVID-19 pandemic and help our communities recover. The cooperative effort between Linn County and the City of Cedar Rapids simplifies the process for applications because they only need to apply once using the joint applications. The online application is available at www.CR-LinnARPA.org. Applications are due by noon on January 7, 2022. Visit here for more information.
