Good Shepherd John

Gracious Father,

We thank You for hearing our prayers and granting us a shepherd, Pastor Pete Grana, to guide us in the paths of righteousness. Now we celebrate his arrival with joy, and we ask that you continue to protect him, guide him and lead him in the coming days. Bless his ministry among us, and grant that we may ever be willing to hear the voice of Your servant speaking in Your name so that he may joyfully carry out his ministry to Your glory and our welfare; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

NEW UPDATE FOR TREVOR

Things are moving forward for Trevor. Being in the Haynesville Correctional Center is much better, he is now "working" by doing odd jobs at the prison, he is allowed to exercise every day and run miles around the track, and he finally got stamps which he ordered two months ago, so he can write letters to loved ones. But the best news of all is that Ali, his parents, and Gary and I have been approved to see him. Now we patiently wait for the prison to call us and set up a date when we can see him.  And his appeal has been filed in Richmond, VA so now we patiently wait to hear from the courts in Virginia. God is good!

Thank you all for your generous donation of books, but we do not need anymore at this time. We have called several jails and prisons here in North Carolina and they do not need any books either. However, if someone reaches out to us asking for books again, we will let you know.

Thanks for your continued prayers for Trevor. We are grateful to all of you for your support.

Cher and Gary Funaiock

A total of $123.48 was collected from the LWML Mite Boxes. Grace Lutheran’s generosity and stewardship for missions is evident through this mission project. The next collection will be August 27th.

The LWML (nationally) surpassed their Mission Goal of $2,150,000 for the 2021-2023 biennium. This reflects all the coins collected nationwide in our tiny Mite Boxes. The mission goal for the Chesapeake District for 2022-2024 is $100,000. As of March 2023, $30,625 has been collected through Mite Box donations. Each time you choose to give to the LWML, you are directly pouring God’s mercy and message into the lives of others.

Here are pictures of Grace's Prayer Knots at the beginning and towards the end of the Call Process. We thank God that He hears ALL of our prayers, the ones represented by a knot and the ones that were not. We continue to pray and He continues to hear us.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
