Dear Hart Families,

January is School Board appreciation month. We are so grateful for our school board and all that they do to support the work we do at Hart and in Lovejoy ISD. We had the opportunity to interview Mr. Marvin Bobo, LISD Trustee, yesterday during our morning announcements. Mr. Bobo helped with all of the lunches yesterday giving the students a chance to get to know him. Here are a couple of the things we learned about Mr. Bobo yesterday:

He believes that it is an honor to serve the school district and that we have the greatest school district in the world!

He doesn’t get paid for the position, and he is happy to volunteer his time.

He runs a real estate company with his brother when he is not volunteering on the School Board.

He grew up in San Antonio and attended school in the Northeast Independent School District. He went to college at Abilene Christian and received his graduate degree at Southern Methodist University

He has 3 boys. All of them are at Hart or went through Hart. Beckett is a 3rd grader at Hart Elementary. Bryce is a sophomore at LHS. Bryce is active in band and robotics. Braxton is in graduate school at Baylor.

He loved everything about school. He joked that PE was his favorite subject when he was in school, but admitted he was good in Math.

He was involved in Yearbook and the school newspaper when he was in school. He also loved to bike ride and still continues that hobby today. He shared that he learned how to juggle in high school.

Blue is his favorite color (although Green was a close second because of Baylor).

Barbeque is his favorite type of food.

He will be cheering on the Chiefs in the upcoming Super Bowl!

As always, please feel free to contact me.

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Every time I call or leave the front office or she’s been so kind as to meet me at the car I feel her good mojo energy. I think she should know she impacts the parents mood in a positive way!! She makes me smile!! C.M.

Mrs. Morris- is an exceptional human! Am so glad we had the pleasure of having as my daughter’s teacher this year . She is always present , she makes you feel seen and heard . My daughter loves being in her class .We want to thank her sincerely for her hard work! K.O.

Mrs. Dodd- I am very thankful for everything Mrs. Dodd has done to help, encourage, challenge and inspire my daughter. This year has brought more challenges than others with the pandemic, new learning styles and etc., but I know every day, my daughter feels loved and safe when she walks into her classroom. In return, that makes my momma heart incredibly happy!! THANK YOU Mrs. Dodd for teaching your heart out every day and for loving ALL of your students! Thank you for all that you do!!! Anonymous

NEW!!!! Queen/King of Hart
Beginning Thursday, February 4, Hart Helpers will be selling paper hearts in the Hart cafeteria before school and during lunch. Heart sales will conclude on Thursday, February 11.

Students can purchase hearts for the teacher and/or staff member they would like to see crowned as King or Queen of Hart! Small hearts are sold for $1.00 each, medium hearts are sold for $5.00 each, and large hearts are sold for $10.00 each. Votes will correlate with the dollar amount of the heart purchased. $1.00 heart equals 1 vote, $5.00 heart equals 5 votes, and $10.00 heart equals 10 votes. The King or Queen of Hart will be announced prior to dismissal on Thursday, February 11.

Working with Weathermatic and Living Water International the funds raised will be used to build a well. The well will be dug in a community in Central America, India or Africa and will provide the citizens with clean water. This effort falls directly under the Lovejoy ISD Graduate Profile of Works for Justice in the Community.  The Lovejoy graduate has experienced the satisfaction of giving and service. She/He has learned through service projects to comprehend the abstract ideas of justice and community. The student has begun to appreciate the need to couple ethical thinking with ethical action. Ultimately, the Lovejoy graduate has learned to respond in love and service to those in need and now strives to move beyond self-interest in relationships with others.

Our goal last year was to raise $1000.00. We were struck by the overwhelming generosity of Hart students and families, we raised $ 3569.00!!!!

Please help support a great cause and crown a teacher/staff member King or Queen of Hart!!!

Please remember to copy Nurse Alli on any illness related absence emails. If your student is absent due to not feeling well (any symptom listed on the Covid Symptom Exclusion Letter) you must provide a doctor return upon their return to school prior to the 10 day isolation period. Thank you!

During the months of January and February I will be conducting state mandated hearing and vision screenings (unless exempt or a current vision screening report is provided by a licensed physician) on all Kinder, 1st, and 3rd grade students. I will also be screening all new students for the 2020-2021 school year. If your student is currently virtual, we are currently working on a plan to get these students screened as well. If you prefer for your child to not be screened, please send me an email stating you are declining the screening.
